I took some time looking at the proposed depth chart with our new draft picks and it seems to me that mix of personnel will result in a different breakdown of who is on the 53. Specifically, and you can call me crazy, but we may be looking at a 7 WR and 4 TE roster for 2011. See the breakdown by position and depth chart below.
OL 8 1 Backs up all positions (Goldberg), 1 plays either T (Foster), and 1 plays any interior (?)
QB 3 Normal - maybe hold 2 on 53.
RB 3 Normal
TE 4 Can play special Teams.
WR 7 Pettis, Gibson, and Salas play special teams, another reason Gilyard and Robinson are on the hot seat is gone
DL 9 Type of Defense
DB 9 Can play special teams
LB 6 Can play special Teams
PK/LS/P 3
Total 52
Leaves one more spot open not sure what position that would be.
