Breakdown of 2011 Games: Weeks 5-8

Bumped to the FP by Van.

Hey Rams fans,

Here are my opinions on the next four weeks. Mos of you agreed with me that we will start the season off 2-2, which isn't that bad. Like the first games, the next few will be tough. Rams have to show their improvement to the fans. So now, let's jump.

Week 5: Bye

Rams players get an early week off. Early bye weeks aren't always a good thing. Also don't know if you knew this but if the lockout takes away games, we will play the Baltimore Ravens this week.

Look for: Players to rest injuries

Match-up: Hot tub vs. Pool

Week 6: St. Louis Rams @ Green Bay Packers

Rams face off in Green Bay versus the Super Bowl Champions. The Rams will have a very tough time against the Packers. The real reason why the Rams will have a tough time is because the Packers don't have many holes to attack. The Packers are pretty solid on both sides of the ball. For us to have a chance in this game, we will need a near perfect performance by everyone. If Steven Jackson can get the running game going early then the passing game will hopefully follow.

Look for: Passing game to struggle.

Match-up: Steven Jackson vs. Skilled Packer defense

Loss: 35-12

Week 7: St. Louis Rams @ Dallas Cowboys

Rams go on the road and face America's Team. The Cowboys struggled last year, but that is because their prettyboy quarterback was injured. The Cowboys defense is decent. The Rams will have to find a way to stop DeMarcus Ware. Hopefully our lack-of-a-safety problem will be solved because Tony Romo is a person who likes to throw it deep. Let's hope this game will turn out like our 2008 game versus the Cowboys.

Look for: Sam Bradford to have a nice game.

Match-up: Whoever our safety will be vs. Tony Romo

Win: 17-14

Week 8: New Orleans Saints @ St. Louis Rams

You have to be kidding me! Another recent Super Bowl champion? This is the third time in three seasons we played the Saints. In 2009 we actually almost beat them. I was at that game and I thought we played exceptionally well. Then in the 2010 season we really struggled. We suffered an embarrassing 34-13 loss. Well I think it will be different this time. I think by now Josh McDaniel's offense will be burned into the team's head (well maybe not Mardy Gilyard's). The Saints are still pretty good, but they sure aren't the Super Bowl champs they once were. Our defense may struggled against Drew Brees and company. This will be an interesting and close home game.

Look for: Rams to come under the radar.

Match-up: Our defense vs. Drew Brees and Co.

Loss: 17-13

Assuming we went 2-2, we now sit at 3-4. It isn't bad, but it's certainly not great. The Rams are improved and if Sam doesn't have the "Sophomore Slump," we may be in good shape. Luckily a few easier games come in the following weeks. I am looking forward to seeing the Saints vs. Rams game. I think it could go either way, but since we have too many voids, I think we'll drop that one. This could be one heck of a season when rich people stop being so greedy. GO RAMS
