There has been a lot of talk about who we will most likely takin the second round as well as the first. Here are my top five prospects as of now.
Leanord Hankerson, WR- Miami. With Julio Jones being taken in the first round before us, there comes a debate on whether we should take one at all during the draft. I personally dont think we need to based on other needs but I wont be crying if we do. He has a very good hands, great acceleration, and size. Not saying he will be the best WR in the league, but im not saying he cant be a #1 reciever. I can see him having a very good career wherever he goes.
Mason Foster, OLB- Washington. OLB is arguably the biggest need in the draft based on us needing two of them. Whether we get one in the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, we will get one. My guess would be that we get one in the first three rounds. Mason Foster would be or best OLB by far and would compliment JL55 very well. He has very good instincts, has great strength which he uses to get around blocks, and is a consistent tackler.
Marcus Cannon, OG- TCU. Another big need and will take over at Guard when the season starts. He will help out our offensive line dramatically and I will welcome him gladly.
Ryan Williams, RB- Virginia Tech. Its really sad that we dont have 2 or more second round picks because their are so many players I want in this round. Ryan Williams is one of those I want. He has a lot of natural running ability. He has had a knee injury but his upside is to good to pass up. He would be a great backup to Steven Jackson. I can see him being a starter when SJ39 retires.
Quinton Carter, S- Oklahama. Quinton Carter isnt my first choice for safety but he is my second. The reason for him not being my first is I would rather get Robert Sands. But he is fair in man coverage, and is good in zone with his good hands and speed. He also is very effective against the run and is a solid tackler. He will clearly be our started for a while.
