St. Louis Rams Top 10 Draft Busts - #5 Robert Thomas

Looking back at the St. Louis Rams draft picks from the last decade or so requires a strong constitution. It certainly makes you thankful for the current direction of the franchise. Our #5 draft bust is none other than LB Robert Thomas.

Thomas was  the 31st pick in the 1st round of the 2002 NFL Draft. I almost overlooked Thomas. He wasn't a spectacular failure, and the Rams still managed to have a 12-win season the year after drafting him. After the 2003 season, as you well know, the wheels came off as first round picks like Thomas provided nothing.

Busts 6-10 are here. We'll pick up the 10 best picks right after we wrap up the busts.

I remember in NFL 2K4

I played a franchise with the Rams…he had 32 sacks that year…demanded 15 million dollar a year contract…let his ass walk.

Memories.

And he by no means represents the talent and success of any UCLA players other than himself

Wow...

Insightful article. “Robert Thomas was a bust because…uh, the wheels came off.” Not one stat. Not one bit of info on the guy (still don’t remember who he was).

Up against a deadline or something?
