With the 3rd pick in the draft, the Buffalo Bills select: Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M

Unforunately, cgerken44 had to abdicate his pick, so I made it for him. I wonder if he would have picked the same? Here is my rational:

This was a tough pick for me. It was either Newton or Miller, and I decided to go with Miller (if Gabbert was on the board, it would've been him though). I think the Bills definitely need a QB, but they definitely need a lot of things. The problem I have with Newton is I just don't see his success translating to the NFL. He is a high talent prospect, that's for sure, but questions still remain about some off the field issues, and I just don't see the Bills handing a 60 million dollar contract over to a guy who has the questions he does. Miller is also an athletic freak, and Coach Gailey already knows what he's getting with him. There is no doubt he'd be able to disrupt offenses with his talent, both early on, and later in his career. No offense (no pun intended) to Bills fans, but with New England, New York, and even Miami playing well, there is a very real possibility Andrew Luck will be available to them next year. I'd think if QB was their route, they'd be more inclined to pick up someone like Locker, Mallet or Kaepernick in the 2nd (or earlier).
