This could be news...I hesitate to qualify it as good or bad. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that an extension of the NFL/NFLPA talks is now a definite possibility. Currently, a lockout would begin when the clock strikes 12 and the calendar turns to March 4, if there is no deal in place. However, the league and the players could agree to move that deadline back if they want to continue with negotiations. Based on Schefter's report, it sounds like that's a very distinct possibility.
But check out his subsequent tweet...
The owners pushing for an extension of talk? Hmm, that makes it even more intriguing and probably means that Judge Doty's ruling to strip them of the lockout insurance provided in the TV contracts has indeed put negotiations on a much more level playing field.
