1.OLB Cameron Lawrence, Miss St 6'2 230
110 Tkl's, 2 Sacks, 2 INT, 2 FF. Active LB who finds his way to the ball and makes plays. Against a great Crimson Tide team, Lawrence racked up 12 TKL and an INT.
2 .ILB Chris Marve, Vanderbilt 6'1 242
85 TKL's 1 Sack, 1 INT, 1 PBU. Lateral quickness is something that I note evrytime I watch Marve play. He has good instincts and has coverage skill. His height may cause concern for some; but I come away with the thought that the kid is a Football Player.
3. CB Terry Hawthorne, ILL 6'1 190
56 TKL, 3 INT, 1 INT TD ret, 7 PBU. A physical CB that has been one of many standouts on a tough ILL defense. The E. St. Louis native brings pop to the CB position.
4. RB Robert Turbin. Utah St 5'10 216
249 Rushes, 1,517 yards, 19 TD's, 17 Pass Rec for 171 yards and 4 TD's. A powerfully built RB with legs that drive like pistons for extra yards. Go back and watch him play against Ohio. He ran 20 times for 101 yards. Against Auburn he had 70 yards rushing and 2 TD's. The knock on Turbin has been boughts with injuries. These concerns may have a 2nd round talent falling into the later rounds. When I watch Turbin I see a younger, faster version of Mike Tolbert. Maybe that role will serve Turbin well.
5. Aaron Dobson, Marshall 6'3 205
49 Rec, 668 yards, 12 TD's.
I happened to se Dobson when Southern Miss played Marshall. Cadarro Law and Vinny Curry were the players I wanted to focus on until I noticed #3 WR Aaron Dobson. He did not impress with speed; though he is fast, he displayed great concentration and an ability to adjust to balls thrown badly. Dobson uses very good route running to get free of defenders. He also has a great set of hands. Check out his game against ECU. He has decent size and uses that size to his advantage. I think he has 2nd -3rd round talent. IMO he will be judged by his lack of stats; by which some team may find a potentially productive wideout.
