No to a receiver in the first round

There have been many suggestions that the Rams should take a receiver in the first round. I disagree, and have slotted USC's Matt Kahill in this space. Rationale after the jump, as well as a second round pick.

As we've seen this year, you can have anyone at receiver and it doesn't really matter if the qb doesn't have time to see them. Lloyd is an exceptional receiver, one of the best in the NFL. There isn't enough time to use him on most plays.

So the initial plan is to have Kahill at LT, Saffold at RT, Jason Smith at LG and Dahl at RG. Fill in the blank at center, but perhaps we will address that later in the draft.

With the offensive line solidified, in the second round I would pick DT Jerel Worthy. This guy works the entire game and at 310, can plug some holes in the front. He is also very quick and would get a few sacks as a bonus at the NFL level. Joined with Long (who is entering his prime) and Quinn, it makes for a pretty scary DL. Next pick to follow.

Welcome any comments.
