NFL Prospect: DT Mister Cobble, Kentucky 6'0 332

This big fella really came on late in the season: 33 Tkl's, 3 TFL, 1 Sack. He came back from torn labrum surgery to finish strong against Georgia and Tenn. The thing that is scary about this kid is the quickness he displays getting off the ball and off blocks. He gets off the line so fast at times; you may miss him if you blink. Cobble is a powerful kid that has more than brute strength. He utilizes great moves to attack the backfield. Cobble also lost time for academic issues; but has made the effort to get back on the field. If he enters the draft he may fall to rounds 5-7. This is probably due more to academics and coming on late after an injury. He has IMO, 3rd round talent. Could be a bargain as a late round pick or as an UDFA.

When using the high draft choices, I prefer multiple year starters who haven’t shown an injury bug. There’s a skill to playing a lot of games in a competetive conference at a high level and not getting injured.

Sometimes That Skill Is Just Luck

I agree that Cobble due to his missing time due to academics and injury is not an early round candidate. IMO’ he has early round talent and may be worthy of a look in the later rounds.
