What's going on with Laurent Robinson?
I just don't get it. How was this guy not good enough for our team, and yet somehow is plenty good for the Cowboys. I know when he was here that he didn't have anyone to take some pressure off him, and that he had a case of the drops, but how is he dominating now? Do the Cowboys just have that much better of a system? Better coaching? Or is it just the fact that everyone around him just so much better now? Adam Carriker too for that matter. He's having a pretty good season for the Redskins last I heard. We sure could use a good Defensive Tackle right about now. Unless he's playing as a 3-4 defensive end, in that case we may have just had him out of position. What do you guys think about it? Is it our coaching just not allowing these guys to develope or is it something else?

I have to go with coaching
And the biggest proof of that imo is the offensive line. By all means this should be one of the best offensive lines in football. First round draft pick, second round draft pick that should have been a first round pick, two big free agents one of which iirc was the highest paid at his position at the time (Brown), and one moderately big free agent. Yet here we have the St. Louis Rams.

By far the coaching....
In Robinson’s case he did really well in ATL and came to us knowing what type of talent and production he has and yet did absolutely nothing his whole time here then goes off to Dallas with a horrible QB in Romo and a stack of talented weapons who have proven their worth in the league to push Robinson down the depth chart only to have him out produce all them and become a shinning star once again…..So It’s not him (What we all thought) its us its our coaching and just shows you how much we need to completely re-tool this coaching staff. With Carriker though he was just in a different defense he was suited for…just bad draft picks.

Yeah Romo is a horrible QB
Imagine if Bradford had 26 tds 9 ints 3600 yards and a 100 rating this season… That would be embarrassing.
SJax is still a beast! Best RB in the league!

LOL I mean sure he has good numbers but look at his team overall
But after watching him play some games this yr and the one on sunday night he has terrible rang on throws and under thew 3 wide open WR’s….not saying Sam has done any better but hyped up numbers doesnt make up for bad QB play.

Pretty much what you said. The major thing is he’s not the first or second or even third option like he was in STL. He is the fourth option behind three great option in Austin, Bryant, and Witten. It’s much easier to get open when you don’t get the best corners on you every play like he did in STL. He still has the dropsies though.
I remember
I remember the local StLou media making a big deal of some of Spagnuolo’s choices on assistants a couple of years ago, saying they were questionable. Remember, Spags was a premeir defensive coordinator but came here as a rookie HC, they added an OC who had never been an OC before, and their DC had never been a DC before. Shit son, that’s a whole lotta rookiness.
Hard enough to have one key guy doing new duties, it was probably a little too ambitious to go with all that, even if Spags was a good choice to preside over the house cleaning and culture change that needed to (and did) happen on that old roster.
He hired rookies,
because he didn’t want anyone to question his authority.
