2012 Mock Draft II

This post isn't going to be my mocks, but they will be Bleacher Report's and WalterFootball. In on scenario we are picking #3 and take Justin Blackmon. In the other we are #2 and take Matt Kalil. So I'll but the names here and see which you like more.

Bleacher-

Round 1

Justin Blackmon WR, OK St. I think Blackmon offers too much here. I want him to bring Bradford back to awesomeness. They said Blackmon would better and also said we should tak him over Jeffery because just because your tall doesn't make you a good receiver and mentioned Drew Bennett here. I don't remember him so I don't know what to say about that.

Round 2

Levy Adcock, T- OK St. Idea here is just to get Jason Smith out of here. I'll take it.

Round 3

Ben Jones, C- Georgia. Idea here is to get Jason Brown out of here. Fixing the offensive line is a must I think, but we can do that without Kalil. Jones started 47 games in four seasons so he has quite a bit of experience.

Round 4

Marcus Forston, DT- Miami. Fred Robbins is too old to play right now. He did great last year but has clearly taken a turn for the worst. He almost looks lazy.

Round 6

Chris Gallipo, MLB- USC. Depth. If James Laurinaitis goes down who do we have? Hull? I don't think so, this needs to change. Also can play OLB if absolutely needed

Round 7

Steven Johnson, OLB- Kansas. They say he will take time to develop and will only see special teams play his rookie year. But has the speed and talent we could use.

Round 7

Joe Halahuni, TE- Oregon St. Illini Mike is injured too much so let's give him a try.

Bleacher Report has videos on most of these guys. If you want to see if go to

Now WalterFoorball

Round 1

Matt Kalil, T- USC. Shore up the O-line, need to move Smith to guard or say seeya.

Round 2

Nick Toon, WR- Wisconsin. Get another weapon for Bradford/.

Round 3

Chris Polk, RB- Washington. Backup and maybe eventually the successor to SJ39.

I personally like Bleacher better

I think it fits what we need best and can help us in the future more than Walter.

i think with bleachersreports it will fix our offense

defense will still need some bodies in the middle of that line, but hopefully our offense will be both cheaper and better.

we should be able to sign someone

Than we already have at corner, olb, or DT in FA.

Matt Kalil is better

and has a higher upside than Ryan Kalil.

"Vick’s 100x the player Warner was.
Desean’s not quite at Holts level.
McCoy’s giving Faulk a run for his money.
Maclin’s better than Bruce.

"Warner never took over games."

Neither one works

I like Kalil, but we need an OLB or DT in round 2. Round 3 CB or OLB or G.
No ifs and or buts about it, our team has a lot of holes.

Id take Bleacher

The other I think we would need something on defense in the first 3 defense, I’d love it to go like:
1. Kalil
2. Floyd ( wishful thinking)
3. Olb ( Lewis) or the best DT

ive heard of moving him to guard

Should we try him there or just let him go?

by zachmann21 on Dec 2, 2011 2:23 PM CST up reply actions

I dont even know man

If they think he still has potential then try him at guard but I haven’t been impressed with anything he does.

Me neither

I would rather get him out of here, but I don’t know what the new GM or coach or whoever the heck is here will want to do.

I just hope another team falls in love with Barkley

Kalil, Blackmon or whoever and wants to give us their first and second round pick this year to move up. There is a lot of talent in this draft, just not top 5 talent. I think you can get great value with a mid / late 1st round pick and 2 2nds. Hell, for that matter, shop some of the dead weight on the team and see if you can get another 2nd or 3rd for them. I think it would be awesome to go into the draft with a late/ mid first, 2 2nds and 2 3rds.

by David5264 on Dec 2, 2011 2:37 PM CST reply actions

If we go mid first

then we should go CB, DT, or Zach Brown.

i dont get how people think getting blackmon helps our offensive needs more than kalil would. having good receivers doesnt make a difference if sam cant stay comfortable in the pocket longer than 3 seconds

by onlyK on Dec 2, 2011 10:51 PM CST reply actions

I voted the first one,

because Barkley and Kalil will return to USC to lead them back to prominence!

It would be awesome if we could get Blackmon this year

and Kalil next year. But that won’t happen because we should win 5 or more games next year.
