Greg Salas Injury: Rams WR Out For The Season With Broken Leg
St. Louis Rams rookie wide receiver Greg Salas had really started to turn his season around after a rough start. Salas was carted off the field in fourth quarter of the Rams loss to the Arizona Cardinals today. According to the team, he broke a bone in his leg - reported to be his fibula by Ron Clements of CBSSports.com - and will miss the season.
Salas is the second slot receiver to land on IR for St. Louis. Danny Amendola was lost for the season with a dislocated elbow in week 1, an injury further aggravated after he rushed back to practice.
It's a bad deal for Salas who really started to emerge in recent weeks for the Rams. Since the bye, Salas had 23 receptions for 216 yards in four games. If you recall, Salas made some ugly drops early in the season, getting benched for two games in weeks 3 and 4.
Mark Clayton should rejoin the Rams next week from the PUP list.
Austin Pettis could be next in line to assume the slot role for the Rams.
The status of tight end Lance Kendricks is unknown after he suffered a sprained left foot. He will have an MRI on what's becoming Monday, Bloody Monday for the Rams.

Hard to believe that the season is only half over.
Even harder to believe that I find myself saying “only” instead of “already” while talking about football. This is just bad. Hopefully Salas can recover quickly
Formerly JBaccSTL. Been losing sleep over Rams football since 1999.
Why do the football gods hate the Rams?
Why!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was a kid I broke my fibula in a similar situation....I inverted it playing basketball.
That’s the smaller of the two bones in the leg. I don’t think it should be serious….unless he’s also damaged the ligaments. I hope it’s just a clean break :)

Fuck me
Why does this happen to us? Or does it only seem this bad because we don’t pay much attention to other teams?
Rams - the dummy team the other teams use to boost their confidence/rebound.
The one positive I did take away from todays game was how Pettis stepped up...
On what should have been the “game winning drive” (blocked kick), right after salas went down, Pettis had a 19 yard punt return, 24 yard catch to get us close to field goal range, then hung on to a pass most NFL WR would drop when he got drilled. After the big hit he popped up and was ready to go the next play. Pettis really stepped up his game when Salas went down. I think Pettis could be a solid weapon in the slot. He has shown more speed to me then I thought he would have based on his 40 times. Besides the preseason and some punt returns he has been solid catching the ball, havent seen more than a couple dropped passes from him that I can remember. Nice to see a RC step up when called upon.
holy shit
its only halfway done
M-V-TEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Upon hearing that the nfl lockout was over, I faced in the general direction of Seattle and gave them the finger. GO RAMS

all my preseason predictions have come true
you don’t improve a team by getting no proven wide receivers when that was your glaring weakness last year
you don’t improve by haphazardley signing fringe players
to one year contracts and trying to plug holes
you don’t improve by not knowing how to draft
and you don’t improve with the poorest coaching i’ve ever seen
all called me negative —-but i was dead on
possibly 2 first round picks in 3 years-change we cannot believe in
and lastly -not that we ever do it with a top tier players
but who is even going to want to sign in st. louis
and sam has basically proven not much of anything\
hell he has not even beaten a winning team in 2 years
its as bad as i’ve seen it
at least tony banks was having fun
this would have been more appropriate..
.. theres a song by Ignite called Sunday, Bloody Sunday
What you have is Ignite playing a U2 song...
"For Better or for Worse; 'Till Death Do Us Part"
GO RAMS !!!
use the rest of the season to get sam back on track
other than keeping the rest healthy i do not see any goals to shoot for. sam is in his sophomore slump and will need the rest of the games to get the offense down pat and possibly get his confidence back.
i would tell him to just go out there and have fun and do not worry about the wins and losses. tell the whole team that in fact.
Salas was starting to step up
damn the luck. The only thing for me to save this season would be to sweep the 40whiners
bring back richard brooks and chris miller
and start over
lol
