This seems like it's the worst time to be a Rams fan. And in a loss like this and others that we have had this year I look toward the future. Next year in particular. In a press conference after the game Bradford was upset as he should be. But something about him and his voice almost seemed like he was done with the season, and to be honest he has a right to feel that way. He doesn't have the best talent at the receiver position and even though the O-line is doing better than earlier in the season, I still wouldn't call the anymore than average or just above that. But I also saw that Bradford hates loosing. I do think he is our franchise Quarterback and know one should come in to replace him. So to help him and this team this is what I think the Rams should do come draft day assuming there are no players breaking through. I have us picking third overall, if we can't beat the Cardinals or Seahawks who can we beat?
Alshon Jeffery- WR, South Carolina. I would want a trade but since I am not doing trades in this mock I will stick with Jeffery. Why Jeffery? Honestly it was a toss up between him and Blackmon. Something about Jeffrey just makes me want him on our teams. It's probably the fact that he has been compared to Calvin Johnson but I wouldn't mind him or Blackmon. Jeffery is just an all around beast and would fit well here I think. We have Danario Alexander but he isn't reliable per say. Jeffery's size makes him hard to contain. Even though his numbers are down this year I don't really have a problem with that. Most of us have heard about the QB controversy over and S.C. Good first round pick IMO.
By the way there is a really good article on Jeffery and how he compares to Calvin Johnson over at BleacherReport. Take a look at it at
Chase Minnifield- CB, Virginia. Dream come true for us so far. Minnifield has 19 tackles with three tackles for a loss, one sack and six passes broken up. Minnifield has had good coverage overall. His numbers aren't great but teams aren't throwing to him too much. He did have six picks last year though. He would fit Spags system more because he is good against the run as well as the pass. Another guy to look at here is Jayron Hosley or if both of these two are off the board then I am looking a Chris Polk out of Washington.
Tydreke Powell- DT, North Carolina. We definately need a big guy in the middle to plug up holes now that Fred Robbins isn't doing it. He has done well this season with 40 tackles with 4.5 tackle for a loss, one sack and one pass broken up. Seems like a good pick here.
