The St. Louis Rams pulled a big upset against the Saints this week and they couldn't have done it without Steven Jackson and Chris Long. The season isn't going as good as many expected it would, but even though the Rams playoff chances are bleak, they didn't give up.
This game the Rams just clicked on all cylinders and Steven Jackson was a big reason why. You could tell in the first quarter that Steven Jackson would have a good game, but he exceeded expectations against the Saints. Here's Jackson's impressive stat line; 159 yards rushing, 2 touchdowns, and 32 receiving yards.
Jackson also showed great leadership in confronting Rodger Saffold after his penalty. After that play was over you would see Jackson rallying the troops on the sideline. He also recovered a Greg Salas fumble.
Which is why I'm glad to say that Steven Jackson is nominated for two awards this week. The first one is the air and ground award and the second is the never say never moment.
Next up you have Chris Long, who made his impact known early and often. Chris Long had an impressive day against the Saints, he had three sacks and multiple QB pressures. This was the game, many were expecting him to have by now, but better late than never.
Long had been pretty silent in the stat sheet since week three, but he broke his silence by getting three sacks. He isn't a speed rusher, so the award that he is nominated for is a perfect fit for him.
Long is nominated for the hardest working man award which you can vote for here.
Since Jackson is being nominated for the Never say Never award, I decided to throw a treat to everyone.
