Turf Show Times Caption Contest Winner

You were asked to caption this photo. You did. It was hilarious, and now we have a winner.

The St. Louis Rams might be 0-6, but we're on an undefeated streak here at Turf Show Times. It's all about the community. There are tons of web sites out there that you could be wasting your time boss' time on, but you keep coming back to TST because we have the best fan community on the web, the best of any team or any sport, not just the Rams.

If you missed Turf Show Radio last night, you need to go back and give it a listen. Epic. We covered everything from the systemic failure of the team to the draft to switching to a 3-4 and even the pizza and Snickers diet. Also, our final caller of the night may have been hijacked; we don't know. If that caller is reading this and still want to ask the question you never got out last night, thanks to some rude interruption, drop it on us in the comments.

And now, the caption contest winner. We had some excellent entries among more than 500 of them. The winner gets a Brandon Lloyd jersey, Rams version, unless you'd rather have the Broncos version. Anyway, the winner and some of my favorites after the jump.

The photo above is the one Sir Douglas used for the caption contest on Monday night. I thought you might need that as a reference point.

love this one: "oh crap..I remember Spags telling Smith to to stay away from the light!" It was followed by "too soon?" hats off to JohnHatesMilk.

  •  "Hey look, its the four pillars!" from Orlando_incognito. Great stuff. I suspect "four pillars" will provide ample fodder for jokes throughout the rest of the season.
  • "The majestic 4-legged beast, known as Feeley the Centaur, tries to regain his bearings as he wakes up in the Elysian field. Or perhaps Hades is taunting him with a facade...only can he truly reach Elysium by crossing 100 yards of the underworld with no boatman. A truly impossible task." from giveMongoBall. We do appreciate a little culture around here, and bonus points for inserting some into the caption contest.
  • This one from VT "Thomas Kinkade, painter of light, releases his latest painting entitled, 'Not So Peaceful Retreat.'" was another one that slayed me.
  • I also rather enjoyed: "OMG! I got a touchdown!...Wait a minute" from stillram.

But the caption contest winner was this one from JohnHatesMilk:

"oh crap..I remember Spags telling Smith to to stay away from the light!"

He followed that up with "too soon?" Perhaps it was too soon, but it cracked me up. Congrats!

Ok, JohnHatesMilk, email me with your address and jersey size, and I'll get the replica Brandon Lloyd jersey in the mail to you ASAP.

We're going to do these caption contests every week. It won't feature a jersey for a prize every week, but we will make it worth your while.
