I have a one idea to get this team going. I think that if the Rams had their way, Spags would be fired. Now I have no idea who this guy would be (Cough Cough Jon Gruden) but we need someone who can round up the troops and fire out. But instead of firing Spags, I would rather move him down or demote him. Put him in a position where all he worries about is the defense. I think then things would get better. Now we do have weaknesses on defense but I do think we can fix a lot of those problems. One Corner either in draft or via FA, WR, DT, OLB in the draft. Just filling those positional needs puts this team ahead of everyone else in the NFC West.
Now we have a ton of money invested in our O-line, I honestly think it's the coaching. And it needs to be fixed. This season is just about done. No it is done, so if we get one of those high picks in the draft, we need to connect and hit it out of the park. The Lions have made good choices, we haven't and that is why they are where they are and we are where we are right now. We took Jason Smith in 2009, and at the time it seemed like a good pick, I can't argue taking him, he just didn't pan out. In 2010 we got Sam Bradford, our best choice in years. And 2011 we took Robert Quinn. Not the best choice. Don't get me wrong, I love him I really do(no homo), but with all of the needs we had we could of made a better choice.
I have no problem with McDaniels. Sure he hasn't been great, but he doesn't have that same Patriots offense that made him famous. I think if we get him his toys to play with he'll do just fine.
