Rams Vs. Cowboys: Brandon Lloyd Starting, Brandon Gibson Benched

Stay connected for news and updates

Newly acquired wide receiver Brandon Lloyd will start for the St. Louis Rams today. Starting on the other side of Lloyd is second-year wide receiver Danario Alexander. That leaves Brandon Gibson on the bench, and the Rams did not even activate him for today's game in Dallas.

It's a curious move to say the least. Gibson has been among the better Rams receivers, not that it takes much to qualify for that this season. Backup quarterback A.J. Feeley is starting today.

Among the inactives for the second week in a row is LB Ben Leber. Spagnuolo benched him against the Packers last week, starting Chris Chamberlain in his place. The move worked, as the linebackers played a much better game. Leber was acquired as a free agent, supposed to improve the Rams' problems at weakside linebacker.

Cornerback Rod Hood is active for today's game, for the first time since the Rams signed him as a replacement for their injured starters.

The Rams inactives are: Bradford, DE C.J. Ah You, CB Brian Jackson, RB Jerious Norwood, TE Stephen Spach, WR Brandon Gibson, LB Ben Leber.

The Cowboys inactives are: QB McGee, K Buehler, RB F. Jones, G Arkin, G Loper, G Dockery, DE Hatcher.
