Spagnuolo taking it one game at a time

I was able to hijack a portion of Charles Derwinkle's post game interview with Steve Spagnuolo. I haven't seen the article posted on the Lancaster Examiner's website yet so this is a sneak preview.  Derwinkle asked Spagnuolo what went wrong in today's game against the Washington Redskins.  Here's what Spagnuolo had to say:

“Obviously, we didn't get the job done. They outplayed us in every phase of the game.  I don't want to point fingers but our offense was a non-factor.  We dug ourselves into a deep whole.  We really shot ourselves in the foot. We didn't maintain intensity for the entire 60 minutes and lost our focus on both sides of the ball.  We were flat.  It’s a bitter pill to swallow but the guys need to hold their heads high.  The Redskins outplayed us in every phase of the game.  They wanted it more than we did.  I take full responsibility for this loss.  My hats off to them.”

When Derwinkle asked if Spagnuolo was on the hot seat, Spagnuolo was indignant:

"I'm a professional coach and you're just a sports reporter. I've certainly achieved much more in sports than you have. I have a deep knowledge of the game and you -- well, you don't. I don't want you to forget this and I'm going to give you a subtle reminder in my answer to your question."

He then terminated the interview.
