Rams coaches trek to the Senior Bowl
St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo made the trip to Mobile, AL this week for the Senior Bowl, joining him were offensive line coach Steve Loney, defensive line coach Brendan Daly and linebackers coach Paul Ferrraro. Those coaches joined the Rams scouting department and front office guys, including GM Billy Devaney. What exactly were they doing with their time this week?
Though focused on prospects, the Senior Bowl is also a chance for NFL coaches and suits to have something of an informal conference, networking. (I bet area strippers make half their annual incomes this week). For teams hiring coaches, it's often kind of a vetting process. That doesn't mean they aren't watching players with an eye toward the 2011 NFL Draft. For instance, it's telling that the Rams have had multiple conversations with South Florida DT Terrell McClain between this week and last with defensive line coach Brendan Daly in attendance.
Beyond that, there's really not much to glean as far as the Rams interest in specific prospects. We'll have a better idea about the team's draft board following the Combine and the individual player visits afterward.
Brand new offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was not in Mobile this week; he was getting moved and set up for his new gig.

Well those are the guys that we want there
HC+OLine coach+Def Line Coach+LB Coach….Those are the spots that we need addressed, no about that.
We need some interior O-linemen. We Need a DE pretty bad, along with another DT. And we REALLY need OLB’s…in the worst way.
Does this tell us something about the Draft??? Possibly!!!
