It seems that most of the consistently great defenses in the NFL, at least during the last 10 years or so, have run either a true 3-4 defense or a combo 3-4, meaning they go 3-4 sometimes and 4-3 sometimes. Why haven't we seen at least the combo 3-4 from the Rams and is there a significant possibility it will be employed by Spags in the near future?
It seems to me that a combo defense would give opposing offenses more things to worry about, especially if we could move around that 4th LB the way the Ravens do with Suggs. And in our division, which has, with the exception of Sam, fairly weak QB's, multiple looks might force turnovers.
