Josh McDaniels' decision expected within 24 hours
Following up on last night's post which cited several sources who all believed that the St. Louis Rams would hire Josh McDaniels to fill the offensive coordinator job. It's assumed that McDaniels will make a decision within 24 hours (within 24 hours of Lombardi's report last night, I assume.
Again, as I pointed out in the post it's not a big surprise. John Clayton was surprised it wasn't a done deal last week.
What is interesting about the report is that it makes it sounds as though the Rams have already offered McDaniels the job. Lombardi says that McDaniels will make a decision which will "probably" be St. Louis. He interviewed this weekend, but Brad Childress was supposedly going to interview today or tomorrow.
Last Wednesday, Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star Tribune said that Childress was a long shot for the Rams OC job.
That Chilly is or was scheduled to interview with the Rams means that he is most likely Spagnuolo's backup plan if they can't get McDaniels.

Does the Rooney Rule apply to coordinators position?
I don’t think it does, just askin’ tho.
Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid.

no
Just head coach and “senior football operations position”
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Even with the debacle in Denver he made the offense look pretty good and obviously he coached the greatest offense ever…I’m alright with this

The broncos problem was on defense and McDaniels didn’t manage the HC position very well. He never had issues under Belichick’s watchful eye and Spags keeps the same eye on his coaches and players. Besides, McDaniels needs this to resurge his coaching career. He wouldn’t dare step out of line. His track record with his offenses speaks for itself.
bring him aboard
Only thing that worries me is our offense owns for two years and then he leaves. I don’t want a musical chair thing going on for bradford

What's everyone's opinion on the Rooney Rule
.. isn’t it a slap in the face to teams saying, “we want to make sure you’re not racist”
Probably a touchy subject, and I can understand 20-30 years ago this may have needed to be in place but this is 2010. No one should see color.. In my opinion, no one should have EVER seen the color of someone’s skin.
Any team that doesn’t hire the person who they feel would do the best job, and instead pick color, should not be an NFL franchise to begin with.
Pooch punts should be illegal inside an opponents 38 yard line.
Also,
just because the team has to satisfy the Rooney Rule doesn’t mean the team can still choose anyone they like. Just confused about the rule entirely and why it needs to be in place.
Pooch punts should be illegal inside an opponents 38 yard line.
Shit
Mortensen reports through twitter mcd talks are breaking down!
If I had a nickel for every time I procrastinate, I probably wouldn't be procrastinating anymore.
