Unsure about this season

This wait for the first game against the Cardinals is killing me. This preseason has got me really excited that finally the Rams will pull it together and start climbing back to respectability. This FO looks like its making all the right moves cutting the dead weight but there are so many unknowns starting for us in crucial positions. I can't stop thinking about last year's 3-1 preseason finish. Most of these players we're getting excited over and pinning our hopes on really haven't done anything in the regular season. There is nothing I want more than to crush the Cards this weekend and show the league that the Rams are back but other than our favorite punter/kicker duo only Jackson, Atogwe and Jason Brown have really ever performed at high level when it counts.

Bradford, our recievers, D-line and corners are really all just maybes at this point, even our tight ends that hopefully will end up a team strength have had no real regular season success. Bajema is a great role player but wouldn't be my first choice as number 1 TE. Even with all that, IMO our season's success will come down to the O-lines play. Smith and Saffold hold this team's future in their hands, cue CoachConners with some reassuring comment about Jason Smith. I haven't forgot the Vikings game, we could easily drop back to that once the real games start and the other teams are coming for blood. Any major injuries to the O-line and we are in big trouble. Also, since RamChops gone soft, people gotta calm down on the Danario hype, this guys got one knee and might not ever play in the NFL.

Not trying to burst anyone's bubble but we've got just as many potential problems going into the season as the Cards and Seahawks. Hopefully the preseason play this year isn't as deceiving as last years. On a more hopeful note I think only the Saints game last year got me as excited for the Rams as beating the Patriots this preseason, dirty Patriot sleazebags. 21-17 Rams this Sunday and all my doubts are erased.

I see the same question marks as you do

In fact, I think most of us see the potential problems we may have this year but I also see the potential leaps and bound we can take this year. Last year we won three preseason games yes. We did that while having our starters including SJ playing most of the games (which makes me think we looked alot like the Patriots did in game three haha) This year we did preseason the way it was meant to be done. What I saw was a dominating first string. We absolutely dominated game 3 in the first half in every sense of the word. We absolutely dominated in the first half of game four…. in every sense of the word. It was preseason and all that and it isn’t the same as putting up a W in season but i dont remember us dominating any quarter ever in the last 3 years. Every time we won I felt it was more because we exploiting the other teams bad play. I never felt it was because of our excellant play. That is what makes me excited for this year. That is what feels different to me. I got to feel a rush during the Patriots game that I forgot could happen. Lets just wait and see what the season brings because if we can stay healthy I am confident we can put up more than a couple W’s

Last year,

didn’t we only score one or two offensive TD’s in preseason? This year we show to have some swagger and a MAJOR chip on our shoulders. It never hurts when you don’t have the bone headed penalties that killed any positive we had last year. The saints was a good example of how much damage a drive killing flag can cause.
Injuries will kill any momentum we might start with, but that will hopefully be the biggest monkey we knock of our back.

2 more seasons ....

I think after Spags 4th season and Dvans 5th we will have a superbowl caliber team(meaning we will get to the playoffs). As much as I hate to see us lose we are most likely only going to get 3 or 4 wins. The good news is that means hopefully we will draft high again. I am not to into college football so I wanted to know who you guys think we should pick up with our 1 and 2 picks? Lets say we are gonna draft 4th this year. After 2 more seasons if our team is still “rebuilding” we can the FO and Coaches and try again.

NEWS FLASH!!!!!!!!

Alex ‘jump back’ Barron will be starting at RT for the Cowboys. I predict 2 jump backs before the first half ends, most likely will be on third downs.

Im looking for an encouraging season...

To be honest, our team is all around improved from last season. The big things that killed us last year was our offensive production (Bradford and Co. should help us improve there), Our interior DLine (Robbins, Gibson, and Ryan look promising this season), Penalties (Should be cut down with an additional year of Coaching for Spags and the exits of Barron and Incognito), and Injuries (Pray to god!). We have probably the EASIEST schedule this year taht we are going to have for years to come so I do not think it is unreasonable to say we can win 5 games this season. Only SD, NO, and ARIZ made it to the playoffs last year out of the 16 opponents on our schedule!!!

I agree

Actually I would be disappointed with any less than 4 wins this year with our schedule. But I don’t know if the Cardinals have fallen that far from the NFC champions they were a couple years ago. Derek Anderson has shown the ability to play at a high level with the browns, and Fitz will make any QB look good with his ability to fight for errant throws. IMO next year we will in a brawl with the 49ers for the division.

I agree...

…that we have a shot at the division after this year :)

there's a difference

between going 3-1 ugly and 3-1 beautiful. this season it was beautiful and there was actually some promise and skill instead of luck.
