Is the Rams offense better than advertised?
Yahoo Sports put out the following story by the Sporting News on the NFC West and how things look for the Rams, Niners, Cards and Seahawks. It's encouraging that they feel that the Rams starters are good enough if healthy to pull off some wins. First time I've seen anyone say anything good about us.
The Rams' recieving corps continues to be a concern to the prognosticators and some fans. I understand that it's preseason and there was a need to play as many wideouts as possible to see what we had on our roster, but to me it is very encouraging that we were able to spread the ball around between wide recievers, tight ends and running backs coming out of the backfield. In the last two games against New England and Baltimore where Sam Bradford had a chance to play with the starters at least for a little while, we threw to 11 different recievers in both games to the tune of 326 and 237yards against supposedly tough defenses.
I understand some of those players won't be on the roster during opening day but to have Laurent Robinson, Brandon Gibson, Danny Amendola, Mardy Gilyard, Steven Jackson, Kenneth Darby, Keith Toston, Michael Hoomanawanui, Billy Bajema, Fendi Onobun (and whoever else makes the cut) gives us a lot of options to spread the ball around. I believe the unpredictability of either handing it off to SJ39 or play action and then hitting whatever open man is out there is going to make for an exciting spread offense and it might allow Bradford to have a seamless transition from the spread open Oklahoma offense to the Rams West Coast offense.
I'm telling you, the way we have been jumping on people in the first quarter has me very excited to get this season kicked off. Like I said in previous posts, I do not fear any team in the NFC West and I sincerely feel that we have a legit shot to win the West and get back to where the St. Louis Rams belong! In the playoffs baby!
Go Rams!

I agree to a point…. not playoffs. but i think we could finish above, the cards and seahawks, or atleased close. Biggest holes. Dline (one more tackle and end) and offensive gaurd (jacob bell). Im likeing our corners, linebackers (one moreOLB for future)…these are all for nexts years draft…. oh and ofcourse back up running back and Wide out. Not enough depth overall.
I Agree with your need as far as personnel...
But if we can stay healthy( big if ). I think we will have a small (very small) chance of winning division. But at least its a chance. If you had asked me this last preseason I would have said no way. Also if we can make a key trade or two plus some good waiver picks ( both of which I think are very likely ) I would upgrade that small chance to a decent chance. If San Fran looks as good as everyone is claiming they will it be very tough.
Hope...
is a great thing :)
I think the team overall is pretty good, but we need a #1 WR. The glaring problem that we have is lack of DEPTH in my opinion. But as bad as we’ve been snakebit in the past, maybe we’ll have some good luck now!

statistics are in our favor
no one has had as bad of luck repeatedly in the injury department like the rams have. Statistically we are bound to pull out this year. Problem is, based on the rule of statistics we should have pulled out of it last year and look where that got us…..lol
I think people will be surprised by your offense
Bradford is the real deal. You do need a #1 WR though.
