Game Thread, Rams vs Ravens: Bradford locks down the starting job

The St. Louis Rams scored on their first possession of the game as rookie QB Sam Bradford converted 100 percent of the team's third downs (3 for 3) and laced a short TD pass to Bill Bajema for an easy six points.

There can be no question that Bradford, who made all kinds of beautiful plays this evening, will start for the Rams in week 1.

My favorite play was the rollout screen pass to Fells on the first play of the game. But, hell, they all looked good. Granted it wasn't Ray Lewis' defense out there, but it was impossible to ignore Bradford's opening statement.

Let the game thread continue here.

Preseason or not, Ravens 2nd or 3rd team or not that is so much better than last season!

I don't understand

how people can see the Ravens as championship contenders with depth this bad… Their second stringers are going to have to figure things out. Meanwhile, St. Louis is excited for next Sunday WOOHOO!

I used to upload the NCAA Football '09 and '10 rosters into Madden and always drafted Sam Bradford onto the Rams in Franchise Mode...I liked him before he was cool =)

The offense looks to be the real deal

but the defense is going to need depth and their depth does not look to good. Okay, let me change that. They are championship contenders but favorites? Walterfootball is crazy.

I think its a case that

if their team stays healthy then they are absolutely a championship contender but if injuries bite it could turn ugly. Mind you you could say that about most teams

I know you guys are trying to dig into the Rams

so here’s your Draft prospect update:

The big prospects from South Carolina & Pitt have underperformed thus far, save for Sophomore Gamecock WR Alshon Jeffrey. That includes Pitt WR Jon Baldwin

but true #1 WRs elevate their QBs. I’m seeing it from Alshon Jeffrey at S. Carolina; not seeing it from Baldwin tonight.

Jeffery was definitely looking good before I changed to the Pitt game. But Garcia is an experienced senior compared to Sunseri. I expect him to make him better down the road, he’s too good :) but Lewis is definitely looking alright.

Random note of interest

How did Versus get the best early game (Pitt v. Utah)? Does football in the south draw such stronger ratings that South Carolina v. Southern Miss (a relatively easy blowout prediction) shows on ESPN while Pitt v. Utah (a serious upset candidate that still looks asmuch at halftime) goes to Versus? Is college football that regional?
