CFB open thread
Need some football today? There's plenty. Here's my watch list, and of course, Dan has his notes for today's action over at MTD.
It's a big day for defensive prospects, so for those who already sliding toward the "D-line in the 1st round" camp, today's a good day for you to catch some football.
I'll have my Oakland preview out later (sorry for the delay), followed by Turf Show Radio at 6pm ET. Saturdays are gud.

He's a quality QB
I have a few minor issues, but he’s got a whole season to work on those and they’re all manageable issues.
You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.
And just in case
I know we have some soccer fans here at TST, and they know I love my Gunners. Open thread over at The Short Fuse. For those of you who hate/don’t care about/don’t watch/don’t understand soccer, disregard.

Haha
wacky play in UGA-Arkansas. Botched snap on the punt, but the punter hustled his way for a first down. Love seeing punters get their hero moment.

BTW
For anyone else, what games are you watching among the early slate? Anyone watching Penn St.? Something on the Big 10 Network? What about the ESPN3 games?

Pac-10 baby
Ducks and Beavs for me. I caufgt most of the Cal-Nevada game last night. I’d take Kaepernick if we didn’t have Sam. He improved his accuracy and thats always good.
He's interesting
I’m eager to see what he does the rest of this season. He certainly doesn’t jump out at me like some of his peers, but he’s got time.

Hmm...
1) The Terps’ Pass D apparently decided to take this saturday off.
2) Watching Locker today made me happy we drafted Bradford rather than getting Suh, and hoping to get Locker in 2011.
3) Whoever calls the offensive plays for Georgia lost the game for them. Not a single receiver on a short hook or slant route? Seriously? Fail.
Locker's a physical specimen
He can do everything. Does he have issues? Of course. That’s why he came back for his senior year. And while things look bad for him, don’t be surprised if he turns the season around and still warrants a first round pick in the ’11 Draft.

True, he's a specimen.
But he needs someone great to learn from for about 2 to 3 years before he can be expected to start in the NFL. We can’t afford that. And we don’t have anyone for him to learn from. Sam on the other hand, will be great this time next year, just from playing his rookie season.
