Sam Bradford has never played a regular season NFL game in his life. He's also the most important player this NFL team has ever had.
Aaron Hooks, who covers the Rams for SBNation St. Louis looks at the pressure for Sam Bradford. Hype? Hyperbole? Hyphy? Hy-Top? Things to ponder.

We all knew this on Draft day
When Bradford’s name was called, it was like going all-in at the final table in Vegas. He is, without question, the face of the Rams.
Will that face be a winning face? Where Sam goes, so go the Rams.

Well of course there's pressure on Sam Bradford...
…but there’s a reason people say “organizations win championships.” I would say, where Sam and his Rams go will largely depend on how well the FO equips him.
Sure, he has to steer the ship, but if the FO gives him one with a broken sail or holes in the hull, it’s likely going nowhere but down. Right now, we’re patching up those holes so the guy can sail to a nice tropical island (The Superbowl) and find some buried treasure (Lombardi).
This year is attempt one. We’re going to find out just how much our current patching has worked, and how much more we’ll need to get where we want to go.
Captain yes. Miracle worker, probably not.
(I don’t know squat about boats/sailing, but you guys get the point).

I though defense wins championships
Now I’m confused, but suddenly I feel the strong urge to whistle Gilligans Island.
Ask the '99 Bucs if their D helped them win a Chanpionship
They did come back and win a superbowl courtesy of their D, however I think Offense can win a championship just as easily as a defense can.

Championships.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

And yes, that's why I said orgs win titles...
…no matter what the Defense.
Wait, that said, the Rams D that year was ranked in the top 10, and top 5 against the run.

yeah
but that’s not what got everybody’s attention. It was the retarded amount that they scored against other teams:
8 games of 30+ scored
4 games of 40 + scored (1 in playoffs vs. Vikes)
….they did lose to the lions thought :(

Special QB's can elevate a team.
I’d love to see that happen.. then we’ll know we have more than a “good qb” who needs some time. I think Sam is capable of being one of those QB’s

I agree completely.
But consider the following:
(DISCLAIMER, I am not insinuating that he is a failure)
Peyton Manning, by most standards, has been the quarterback of the decade. I mean, year in and year out he outperforms every QB in the league in his control of the game, outstanding accuracy/arm strength, etc.
But, there’s only been one Superbowl victory. And I say only one because, in the record 4 years he has been named the NFL’s MVP, it’s not much to ask that he’d have won 2 or so.
In his early years he had to overcompensate for a defense that never got its act together until they beat the Bears in the ‘06 (I think?) Superbowl. Thats 5 or 6 years of top offense and QB play, special QB play, down the drain because the other half of the team wasn’t up to par.
The last 4 years it seems like the defense has improved, but they’ve notoriously lacked a running game to spell Manning, which obviously makes things more difficult.
So I guess what I’m saying is, we’ve got to be careful how much we stretch the limits of Bradford’s ability (forthcoming or currently present) to overcompensate for failures either on the other side of the ball or on the offensive personnel around him (namely, WRs). Otherwise, as special as he may be, we won’t get the results his play is capable of in regards to overall team performance.

if Bradford turns in a decade like Peyton just completed, I'll take that any day of the week....
…i agree…there has to be a team around him,.but look at Peyton’s winning percentage over the decade…look at the attendance at Colts games….if it wasn’t for Peyton, the Colts may not have gotten a new stadium and could already be in L.A..
This article is more based on the Rams survival in St. Louis. Bradford has a chance like Manning did a decade ago to turn things around for this franchise rather he wins a superbowl(s) or not.
I would take
A decade of winning, a superbowl, and hall of fame qb play over what the rams have put on the field the last ten years…. at some point the front office had take a gamble and if bradfords shredding of the evil pats defense was any indication of his future it was a good gamble…even if it doesn’t pan out look at the lions and joey harrington wait bad example…

I disagree.. Bradford can win it alone
JUST KIDDING lol
I agree, and just to clarify, I do believe you have to have talent and ability. Definitely not saying that. Just because Bradford may be special, he couldn’t elevate me enough to play DE.
BUT I believe we have pieces in place for that to happen.. POTENTIALLY.

I sure as hell hope so.
Hell, at this point I’d take just a year without any MORE significant injuries if you offered it. Anything to finally gauge EXACTLY where we are without the “what-if” factor.
