Shurmer Bubble Screen "Breakdown" WK 1

Hey guys.. I thought I would break down a play from Saturdays preseason game against the Vikings.

It was actually a great call against press coverage, however our blocking broke down and allowed way too much penetration, a common occurence Saturday. I'm sure a lot of these problems will lessen once our line is back to normal organization, and more play time.

The video quality isn't great, and it's by no means professional, but I hope you enjoy it nontheless.

great post

see….Shurmur can’t be that bad….he is an NFL coordinator, I’m sure he knows what he’s doing.

For those complaining about the playbook being too vanilla, we’ve got a rookie QB who’s never played in a pro-system before. I’m sure Shurmur will add more as Bradford progresses, but for now, he’s gonna keep it simple, and frankly the Rams are having trouble executing simple West Coast Offense plays, which shouldn’t be too hard.

Great stuff VT!

I love this kind of play breakdown. Keep this up, you were spot on sir.

But Westbrook didn't want to play for us.

He wanted to play for a team with a chance for the playoffs, and he didn’t want to play on our artificial turf.

Much nicer than what passes for analysis on many of the networks.

Danario Alexander

What’s the deal with him? Is anyone gonna sign him? Hopefully us!

The story here is that he isn't in football shape yet.

The Rams are staying in contact, but even if his knee is fixed he isn’t in shape to play football right now. He’s working at trying to get in shape, but that’s why no one has signed him yet.

Nice

Good analysis and entertaining to watch. I’d enjoy these as a semi regular feature. Well done.

Thanks!

What’s weird about this play is it’s almost a hybrid of a Middle Screen… one other thing I noticed is, Bradford has a couple options for a bubble or mddle… technically this was a middle screen, with the “appearance” of a Bubble screen. Very unique indeed.
