Around SBN: Dissecting Nick Diaz's Positive Drug Test

While check-in continues for the veterans arriving today, I've spoken to some sources close to the situation and they've informed me that Sam Bradford's welcome packet has been moved to the side for now.

This appears to put into jeopardy his attendance at the 6pm team meeting today.

That's Brian Stull walking back from a previous report that Bradford would be in house tonight for a team meeting. Even if the contract isn't completed, it's got to be pretty close...close enough you'd think to have Bradford at practice tomorrow.

For those of you interested, on 101 ESPN they are discussing this right now.

Some speculation might be because owner change over and who is going to pay the bulk of the guaranteed money, Chip (now) or Stan (next year).

I could see that being a troublesome issue.

On one hand, Chip drafted him and on the other, Stan’s gonna be the one making the money off of him in the future. Just split if 50-50 if there’s an argument. Thousands and thousands of people care that Sam gets into camp, but only Chip and Stan care about their money, and they have plenty of it. Split it 50-50 and get Sam’s deal done within the next 80 minutes.

I bet Stan had a pretty good hand

in approving the draft of Bradford.

Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid.

Yea

Wouldn’t it be best for the team (not for Chip) if we gave him the most money this year? Wouldn’t that help since this year there is no cap, and we’d have to pay him less when there is a cap?
Salary cap hits are confusing and I never know what’s going on with them.

Both are RICH!!!

Since I’m jealous and both previous and current owner are stupid rich I don’t care what they pay him. The only thing I would like as the rest of you all is what he can produce, not immediately but in the long run. Lord knows we need some consistency on this team and not in a bad way.

Its everywhere

Turn on any ESPN station and look at the bottom line, or look in the fan posts, look on twitter, look on the PD website, NFL.com. You’ll find it. 50 million guaranteed, 76 million/6 year 86 max.
