Bradford in camp today?

The St. Louis Rams continued talks with first overall pick QB Sam Bradford last night, and apparently they made real progress. According to Brian Stull of ESPN 101, whose twitter account is quickly becoming the source for Rams news, says that he'd be surprised if Bradford does not report to camp today.

There you have it. Bradford should be suited up and ready to roll when the full Rams squad takes the field for practice tomorrow.

I can't see any reason why he'd skip out...

…just because of contract negotiations. He’s not going to throw himself on the floor kicking and screaming like Crabtree did last year. Sam knows he’s getting $45M-50M. You tell me that’s how much I’m going to make this year, and I’ll show up to work… early, even. Might even not sneak out early, either.

I'll believe it when I see it.

And I hope I see it today!

Go Rams!

"We can't run. We can't pass. We can't stop the run. We can't stop the pass. We can't kick. Other than that, we're just not a very good football team right now." --- Bruce Coslett, New York Jets Head Coach circa 1990s

Speculation from "Stully"
According to sources, negotiations between the two sides lasted until at least 3:30am this morning. It’s believed that the numbers and terms have been agreed to, leaving the legalese and paperwork to be completed.
That process should go smoothly as the two sides negotiated and can use the contract of Jason Smith from last year as a template.
A normal NFL contract is a couple of pages long, but according to sources, Smith’s deal was upwards of 50 pages.
Sam Bradford spent the night in St. Louis, so he will be available to arrive at Rams Park easily when it’s time for his signatures.

50 pages?

Damn. Must of been some detailed incentives and perks. Although it could take upwards of 50 pages just to fit all the zero’s from Sam’s salary on there.

Not sure I get the connection...

between the Rams and Bradford’s agents working a deal, and Special Forces soldiers being killed. Are you trying to imply that it’s wrong for the Bradford’s agents and the Rams F.O. to spend time sweating out the details of the contract while our troops are being killed in Afghanistan? I mean, both situation are frustrating, but they’re not related. Obviously because of the amount of $$ involved, the specifics that go into a #1 overall pick’s contract are a little more complex than what fans like us can fathom.
