Rams to retire Isaac Bruce's number 80 this season

St. Louis Rams wide receiver Isaac Bruce, who is at the moment in the process of retiring, will have his number retiredby the franchise on Oct. 31 at the Rams week eight game against the Carolina Panthers

At the moment, undrafted rookie free agent Brandon McRae is wearing the sacred #80. McRae is making his case for a spot on the roster this spring.

Classy move by the Rams to go ahead and retire #80. He leads the franchise in receiving yards, TDs and catches.

A live stream of Bruce's press conference is up on the team's official site.

Oh and

Macre said he will give the jersey up.

did he now?

don’t think he had a choice, this is a great compared to an undrafted free-agent, though he is overachieving.

Holt left under less than friendly terms.

He basically demanded to be released so he could play elsewhere. I think the chances of retiring his number are a lot less than for Bruce.

Holt only wore #88...

for his first 3 years. He switched after Az Hakim left. If you retire his, it would be #81.

Wonder if it will be anything like the Faulk jersey retirement.

Was an awesome experience when his jersey was retired, even the Steelers fans were cheering (it was that Thursday night game in 2006).

holt's # 88 vs 81

does anyone know why he changed his uniform # from 88 to 81?
