Four former Rams taken in UFL draft

Stay connected for news and updates

I know you've been holding your breath, waiting for the results of the UFL draft, dying to know what former St. Louis Rams made the final cut. Exhale, my friends, exhale. The league that kept Jim Haslett gainfully employed for a transition year has announced the draft results...via Twitter.

And what names on the list might you recognize?

DT Hollis Thomas - Thomas was signed last summer by the Rams to beef up the middle of the defensive line, literally. It didn't work out though, and Thomas was released on Sep. 30.

OL Tim Mattran - Mattran signed for a short stint with the Rams last spring, and spent some time on the practice squad.

LB Simoni Lawrence - The Minnesota product joined the Rams this spring as an undrafted rookie free agent. He was released last week.

WR Ronald Curry - Not that Curry added much, but I was a little surprised when the Rams released him on the final cut down day last fall given their relatively thin and unproven group of receivers. The most interesting thing about Curry is the trivia associated with him. The Rams swapped DT Orien Harris to the Lions for Curry last July. Harris was the player they acquired for RB/FB Brian Leonard.

That does it for your former Rams in the UFL update.
