When will the Rams sign Sam Bradford?
The St. Louis Rams have signed all but three draft picks contrary to reports over the weekend that nine of eleven picks were signed. In addition to first round pick QB Sam Bradford and second round pick OT Rodger Saffold, the other draft pick yet to sign is TE Fendi Onobun, a sixth round pick.
I can't imagine that the Rams are too far away from inking Onobun since the contract rates are pretty well established. In fact, the deal could be far enough along to have provided a grain of "truthiness" to this weekend's report, just not enough for the team or anyone to officially declare it a done deal. As for the other two picks, rookies report to training camp in a month, July 28, so it's not exactly going out on a limb to think that the Bradford and Saffold will be signed sometime in the next 30 days, ideally. Both Bradford and Saffold are projected to be starters for the Rams, if not in week one, soon thereafter. Camp will be especially important for them and every day counts.
More linkage....
Jim Hanifan is back with an expanded role on the radio this year.
Rams defensive end and unrestricted free agent Leonard Little wants to play football this year, and the Rams have interest in brining him back to the only pro team he's every played for. The Rams could certainly use him as a situational pass rusher.
Are we entering the golden age of the tight end?
Twitter fun

I’d have to guess that Bradford will sign the day of training camp. He’ll miss the morning, but will be in for the afternoon session.
i dont want him to miss one minute of camp.
if i was in the situation knowing a deal was gonna get done. id just show up like everyone else. he knows hes gonna get paid. why sit out anytime.
To be devil's advocate ...
… maybe Tom Condon is going to ask for more of an increase over Stafford’s deal than we expect. All the OTA reviews regarding Bradford are pretty good.
I hope they’re just happy with a 3% increase over Stafford and show up on time.
… but who knows until the ink dries?
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
Sammy B not showing up for beginning of training camp???
I don’t think so ! I can’t imagine him wanting to miss a single moment, especially after all he’s been through, so bet he will show up, even if there isn’t a contract yet. Sitting out is something that Sam doesn’t do well. :)
I'm hoping that Selvie
or one of the other young DEs show enough that the Rams don’t need to think about bringing Little back. He would be helpful on a team that got a great push up the middle on passing plays, but he really can’t help much when the QB can step up into the pocket. He has become sort of a one trick pony.
I think Davis or Selvie will have to show up
Sims has to be a long term project. I mean, he’s not even big. He’s 6’6’’ 235 lbs., while Fendi Onobun is 6’6’’ 250 lbs. Sims has got to get some meat on his bones. He actually looks like a tight end.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a DE who is that light. Even the ones considered undersized still outweigh him by 30 lbs.
Onubon > Gates
OLB sized ... but can he play OLB?
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.

Actually, he's probably too tall for OLB. shrug
