Reports of St. Louis Rams unrestricted free agent safety Oshiomogho Atogwe's trip to Seattle have been greatly overstated. Which should be good news for Rams fans hoping the team will bring back the ballhawking safety.
A report last night from Adam Schefter said that Atogwe would be heading to Seattle for a visit. Later reports, however, said that Atogwe was not heading to the great Northwest and the Seahawks, who spent the 14th pick in the in 2010 NFL Draft on Texas S Earl Thomas, are not interested in the free agent's services. It could be that Atogwe's camp is trying to goose teams into biting on his asking price, reported to be still too high for most teams who might otherwise be interested.
The Seahawks did pick up a former member of the Rams, CB Cord Parks, who was released this week.
In other news...
- The Rams promoted Mike Williams to VP of Player Personnel. John Mancini will become Director of College Scouting, and Rich Snead and Russ Bollinger were hired as scouts.
- Firs overall pick QB Sam Bradford expects to be and wants to be signed by the time training camp starts for rookies on July 28.
