There's another free agent RB on the market.

I don't want him

He lost all that weight and didn’t gain any speed or elusiveness.

Good for him for taking his health seriously, but he lost mass without gaining anything positive as an RB.

Big Fat LenDale White was an ok NFL RB. 220 lb LenDale White is not.

I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.

agree

I want a speedy RB not a fat one

Agreed

and with his propensity to throw a child-like tantrum when he doesn’t get his way, I don’t want him anywhere near our team.

I doubt his ego could take being a full time back up anyway

While I don't think he is the type of back we are looking for

I believe he would be a great compliment to Steven Jackson. Anything that can make the Rams competitive while resting Steven Jackson should always be considered an option.

At his current weight, he's no better than Kenneth Darby, maybe even less.

He’s also apparently about to be suspended for 4 games.

No story here really, as far as I’m concerned.

How do you know that?

Give me concrete proof he is no better then Darby.

White has produced, Darby has not. Weight can be gained, especially the type of weight he had…fat. I don’t think much of him as a person, but I don’t care about that. If he can produce on field, which he has, then he is a good runningback. Case closed.

You guys are kidding, right?

Who cares how fat he is. This is football not the Ms. Universe pagent. The Rams need a back-up RB desperately. You think Lendale’s worse than any of the other back-ups the Rams have? He’s starter caliber talent and could spell Jackson in case of an injury or to keep his legs fresh. The Rams have nothing to lose by going after him and a lot to potentially gain. If he still has problems then they can always cut him. People gave up on Anthony Hargrove too. Don’t think the Saints regret picking him up. Its time to see if the four pillars have really been laxed a bit since last year. Better get him now because if Jackson gets hurt this season is toast, and I gaurantee you that next year Spags and Devaney will eliminate the four pillars and invite convicts in because their jobs will be on the line. You can either have Darby toting the rock if Jackson gets hurt or Lendale White. I’d feel a little more at ease having White backing him up.

No thanks

We don’t need Lawrence Phillips Jr. on our team!!!!!!!!

exactly, I love the fact we have Darby as our backup, future pro bowler.

He is much better than White.

Even if he does have issues, I’m sure he is a hell of a lot better than Darby!! I’m just tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for the rams to find an adequate backup. They should have found somebody last year IMO, then thought for sure they would grab somebody by now and they havent.

Maybe someone else will become available before the season, but lots of adequate backups were out there and have already been scooped up by other teams.

LenDale was released for poor work eithcs....

Even if we did pick him up; he wouldn’t last into training camp if he has not desire for the game. Spags will 86 him. If Pete released him why do we want him?
I’d look to the Bills for either one of their backs. We can give up a pick next year based on his performance.

Exactly.

The Seahawks are hurting for a starting RB, let alone a backup, yet they cut him shortly after trading for him. Doesn’t that tell us something is very wrong with this guy? Our backups may not be very good, but I’m seeing a lot of “the grass is greener” thinking going on. These other RBs are not automatically better than ours just because they played for someone else – or in this case got cut within weeks of a team trading for him. All last year everyone complained about picking up other team’s rejects, so let’s not start this year by picking up such an obvious reject as this one.

NOOO!!

There is just something about recent USC players that just don’t seem to transfer well into the NFL. Lendale White, Matt Leinart, Mike Williams, Dominique Byrd, R.Jay Soward, Keary Colbert, Shaun Cody and the list goes on. White is going to serve a four game suspension, goes to be reunited with his ex-college coach in Seattle and gets kicked off the team! You gotta be kidding me! I’m sorry, I do not want this cancer on my squad!

by NachoD on Jun 1, 2010 1:24 AM CDT reply actions

If he had the ability to stick anywhere, wouldn't it have been with his old college coach who is hurting for an RB?

And he couldn’t even get to training camp over there? Any thinking man will know that situation is bad, bad, bad
