Broncos continue to demand a first round pick for WR Brandon Marshall
That could change between now and Aprill 22 or 23, but that's a steep asking price.

That
seems very high for a guy who has character issues and still has to negotiate a longterm deal, I would stick strong with a 2nd or 3rd round pick and a conditional pick for 2011. Add a player (Atogwe or Carriker etc) to maybe help drive the price down.
No way in hell
would I offer our 2nd round pick.
Life is tough, but it's tougher if you're stupid.

so
you think you can get a better player than Brandon Marshall with our second round pick, obviously you get the guy at a cheaper price, but Marshall is a proven elite reciever in the NFL, not college, straight up I would no question give up a 2nd round pick for Marshall.
you certainly won't get an NFL receiver whose playing at that level with a 2nd rounder
you might not even get a WR who would live up to that level of production. BUT, I think the Rams can find real talent for a position of greater need than WR with their second round pick.
THe #1 picks stinks because of the money and risk tied up in the player drafted, but that 33rd pick is solid gold this year.

Does it extend any deeper than 33?
I’m trying to stop feeling like a kid in a candy store with the top of the first 5 rounds. It’s so close to 4 rounds. I’m trying to stop. It’s hard to stop because I think Delaney’s done a great job so far.
The blind stares of a million pairs of eyes, lookin hard but won't realize, that they'll never see the C. And when I'm rollin by, you can't see me!
Marshall is a punk ...
… let someone else deal with him. His talent is undeniable, but hasn’t earned anybody’s trust yet. We are rebuilding, not quickfixing. Let’s do this right.
Yes, I actually wore a watermelon on my head during the Rams SuperBowl victory in 2000.
Get it done now
I have said it before but I honestly believe that drafting Bradford and getting Marshall would put us back into being conpetitive again. We would have the best QB, RB WR combination in the NFC West and it would make Avery better! We need a target for Bradford and there is no way we can find it in the draft. I rather take someone that has made catches in the NFL than take someone that has never played in the NFL.
I would actually be aggressive. There are rumors about multiple teams waiting until draft day to get Marshall. I say get him now. Trade our second round pick and a late round pick for a pick at the bottom of the first round and sign him!
I believe that a change of scenery would do him wonders. Could you imagine having Bradford, Jackson and Marshall lined-up? We would definitely get more than 10 points a game. I also think that our defense is actually OK. We couldn’t move the chains last year so we ended up keeping our defense on the field for too long until they were worn out.

Couple of things
Why does everyone keep saying move up a spot or two to get into the first round? We’d have to use #1 overall to get that pick. We don’t get to pick which pick we want to use in a tender offer.
“A change of scenery would do him wonders”
I don’t think coming to the worst team in the NFL would make him any happier. A change of scenery may do him wonders, but he’s not going to want to play for us and won’t sign a long term deal with us. So we’re giving up a second rounder for a rental who doesn’t care or try.
If he would play hard and stay with us long term I’d be all over this but I don’t see him doing that.
Also you need a defense to win games and we don’t have a very good one of those.
Keep in mind that Marshall has more than some baggage...
Ok, everyone knows how he called his coach out in the media, when the guy questioned him sittting out the last game due to an injury. We all know about the pre-season tantrums.
Add that to his 3…yes 3 domestic charges.
Now add that to his demanding price in a large contract. We are going to be committing a guaranteed $50+ million dollar contract to our first pick in the draft, and know people want us to committ $8-10 million a year to a WR with our 2nd pick, assuming that is good enough to make it happen.
That is a lot of money between 4 guys….
Good points
Those are good points but I think we need to start taking some risks. I am not so sure about the whole dispute with his coach. Cutler and Scheffler also had issues with the coaching staff. I don’t know about the domestic charges but I know the dispute with the coach wasn’t about not getting enough passes thrown his way…

Why do they nee to start taking some risks?
They aren’t close enough to the playoffs for it to payoff in any meaningful way. Teams that take risks are looking at getting over the hump. This team is currently building a foundation, not adding trim. WR is not very high on the list of priority positions when you look at C, LT, QB, DE, DT, OLB….see what I mean? They need to stock the core with studs, then take risks.
