2010 NFL Draft: Browns prepared to make Rams an offer for Bradford

Following up on the post below, Browns president Mike Holmgren says he's prepared to offer most the Cleveland Browns 10 picks in the 2010 NFL Drat and some of next year's picks to the St. Louis Rams for Sam Bradford.

IN a word, wow.

The catch is , he thinks the Rams will and should turn him down.

Should they?

Rams say there will be no surprises with the first pick.

Turn down Holmgren or turn down Bradford?

But....

Will Holmgren offer like a 2nd and 3rd? Or 5ths…

2 first rounders (this year and next) a second and 2 thirds I'd say do it

Plus the QBs comeing out next year are supposed to be ahead of this crop

I agree... do it.. if next year crop looks better

Sam the man

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Suh > Bradford

Rams are making a big mistake. They need defense more than a QB, plus Bradford’s injury prone. They’ll regret it later.

by zoomzoomj88 on Apr 22, 2010 6:39 PM CDT reply actions

Yeah

Hey, the Rams would’ve won 12 games with Keith Null. There was just no defense!

by blindmouse on Apr 22, 2010 6:40 PM CDT up reply actions

Free agents are still available right?

Colt McCoy? Trade up for Clausen?

Suh would have been a better choice.

If Clausen was so great

Cleveland and Washington wouldn’t have offered up half of their team for Bradford.

by blindmouse on Apr 22, 2010 6:44 PM CDT up reply actions

If they had offered half of their team

then we would have accepted a trade.

If Holmgren had offered anything like what he said,

the Rams might have taken it. However, the latest from Devaney is that the Browns never made an offer to trade up. They just called to ask if we would be open to an offer if they wanted to make one, but never actually made an offer. The last call from Holmgren was just to say “Any change?”. I think all Holmgren’s talk was playing to the home town fans, to make them think he was working hard. In fact, neither he nor any other team ever made an actual offer to the Rams for the #1 pick.
