Marshall off the table
For all of you have been hoping to trade for the controversial WR Brandon Marshall, you can rest at ease or concentrate on something else. Marshall has been traded to the Miami Dolphins. He has already signed a 4 year $47.5 million plus the $2.5 million- 1 year tender. It only took 2 2nd rounders- this years and next. Let's see if any tantrums flair up or any footballs are kicked. That division is going to be tough.

only 2nd rounders?
sarcasm i hope
i don’t think he’s a #1 in the first place (only reason u should get 1st rounder
add that to his character issues tells me its not worth it

Two second round picks
is more than I would have given for him. I would have seriously considered giving our second round pick this year, but not this year and next year.
Me too. And 12M/year (even an for elite WR) is a lot to the Rams who really need to spend highly in key spots QB, DT, OLB
My preference would be to spend big in some other spots before adding on an elite WR. Yes, I get that they could use a playmaker catching balls, but this team clearly has other priority needs right now that (I believe) will have a stronger and longer affect on the W-L record.
The blind stares of a million pairs of eyes, lookin hard but won't realize, that they'll never see the C. And when I'm rollin by, you can't see me!

12 million a year is one of those contracts that spell disaster for me
not Drew Bennet bad, but I can’t imagine Marshall plays to the potential to this contract

Well actually
It equates to a 5 year $50 mill contract. he is signed to the 1 year tender of $2.5 mill this year and then the extension kicks in next year with a big payday… er payyear. At least I am pretty sure that is how it wroks.
I believe that's how it was described.
Assuming the press has it right, he will get $50 million over the next five years, with just $2.5 of it this year.
Our second rounders are worth more than Miami's.
We might have gotten him for a 2nd rounder and a 3rd rounder, especially if one is next year. Hopefully our record will be better in 2010. So far we’ve missed every possible acquistion/trade of any significance. No Peppers, Marshalls, etc. But we sure seem enchanted with “the over the hill gang” guys from Philly or NYG’s. I hate the thought of going thru the rebuilding process for a 5th straight year with a new FO and Coach, but these guys are asking for it. Today’s owners won’t let you lay an egg 2 years in a row and keep your job no matter how much you clap your hands after a bad play/game.
