Rams interested in Hank Baskett?

According to this report, the St. Louis Rams are one of three teams with interest in former Eagles and Colts WR and the husband on The Hef's former old-lady Hank Baskett

Baskett would join the rotation of receivers, and I doubt he would be a lock to make the team, though he would have value on special teams.

Welcome to Philly West.

Come On

Hank Baskett? AJ Feely? common, with all the free agents available this is what we settle for. Year after year comes and goes free agents abundant and we never sign anyone that will help our team. I am so exhausted as a Rams fan, how can the front office expect our team to compete or excel, when they keep signing crap players. Does anyone in the front office have a damn clue of the game, or the players in the NFL. I have sat and watched the first few days of free agency, the signings, and for the most part how little cost teams are aquiring players, so why arent we trying. This is the best we can do is Hank Baskett and AJ Feely, come on. Really?

I understand your frustration, but no one?

I though last year we signed a new center who was pretty good and a new strong safety who was pretty good and started for us all year. I’m frustrated about this year so far also, but let’s not get carried away with “never”.

I agree Baskett would not be much help. Our passing attack is starting to look like the Eagles JV.

id take him

just so i can watch his wife at the games

Pujols takes out "I" in BIG and "A" in MAC, previously considered to be an unyielding, consonant threat

I actually like this guy

        I wantedhim last year.

Last year it was between him and Martin

we took Martin because we thought he was better I guess, and he did very little for us. So I can’t see him doing much either.

I don't really see the rams missing out on much.

Should we be paying 40 mil for Peppers, or give up our first round pick for Marshall? The rams seem to be finding people to fill holes. I just don’t think there is that much out there this year.

Oh yay! Another former Eagle.

Do they realize over 90% of the players they could be signing aren’t from the Eagles or Giants?

WE NEED him...

and it has nothing to do with this

yeh he’s married to her….

I said that never help our team, both Brown and Butler missed time last year, so they didnt start all year for us, and neither was a difference maker. The O line was far from ok, and our secondary was close to the bottom in the league. I am talking about playmakers, guys that should be in the NFL. I dont want someone elses 4th rate hand me downs. They dont fill a hole, or a need, its just a worthless signing. I want someone who is going to help the Rams win some games niether Feeley or Baskett will do that, I dont really think either will make the Rams final roster next year. I am tired of the Rams bieng the gum thats stuck on the NFL shoe. We wont win if we dont sign quality players.

So you don't think picking up Brown to play center and Butler at SS

were worthwhile moves? In your first post you said we never sign anyone who will help our team. I think those two guys definitely did help our team. Brown was an alternate for the Pro Bowl, I believe.

Are they guys who will all by themselves get us to the Super Bowl? Of course not. Given the mess our team is in, I don’t think there is any one or two players who could get us there. We need many more good players before that happens. My original message was reacting to your comment that “we never sign anyone that will help our team”, not to your current thought that they weren’t a “difference maker”.

Losing my faith

As much as I want to give time to the Rams management, every move they make is more disappointing… We need a true #1 WR. Boldin is gone, Marshall is close to signing for the Seahawks… even the Lions are stronger than us at WR (actually much stronger)! Sadly, this is starting to remind me of the Linehan era… We had no money last year…what’s the excuse this season?

all honesty

The new couch hi-pp is over no 1 want’s to play here after last year.
Mark my words we won’t sign any big free agents this year.
Not saying that the 1’s we picked up last year helped us in are1-15 season,

Baskett is good

He’s always been an underrated deep threat. I think he would be a good pick-up, expecially at the right price.
