Random Ramsdom, 3/27: Monkey wrenching the rumor mill

Saturday morning coming down. Let's take a quick stroll the world of St. Louis Rams

Devaney upset Atogwe's name was floated
When Atogwe's name got into the McNabb rumors, that became a problem for Billy Devaney.

Rams negotiating with Diggs - Jim Thomas reports in his chat from yesterday that the Rams are negotiating with LB Na'il Diggs. Both sides are close, "just not close enough."

Clausen to visit Browns, Rams, Bills - No surprise here. Though he doesn't get the lip service that Bradford and Suh do, Clausen is among the players the Rams are considering with the first overall pick in the draft. His April 9 workout will be very important.

Kyle Wilson runs a 4.43 - The Rams were on hand to watch Boise State CB Kyle Wilson run his speedy 40-yard dash.

Source confirms: TE Gronkowski's back red-flagged
Rob Rang is reporting that the Arizona TE has been "red-flagged" by teams. One scout cited in the report says that his team believes Gronkowski's back will never be 100%.

I would like that Diggs move.

Adding a veteran that plays the run well, and has been a consistent contributor for his team over the last half decade would be ok with me. In addition to that, it will allow us to address the WILL in the draft.
Diggs is a guy that can play anywhere on the LB line. He is also a big upgrade from Lennon. Let’s get the guy.

Rams building up roster

LB Na’il Diggs is a solid run stuffer and hard nose player. Good pick up for Rams.

Sure seems as if the moves are intended to draft "starters"

The #1 pick in each of the first two rounds has me concerned – the last month of blogging make me FEEL as if Rams will go QB and WR or QB and DE!

I don't think WR is even a possibility in the second.

I think TE or D-line (probably DE) in the second round and I think we will take Bradford.

not even a possibility?

Out of curiosity, what makes you say that? The Rams should be employing a “best available player” mentality throughout this draft, and if a tall impact receiver that can change the dynamic of our passing game is there at #33, why wouldn’t the Rams consider him?

TE, essentially a W.R. too I suppose

Good call though.

If I were Al Davis or Jerry Jones, etc.. Rams would be going 1 of 4, then 1 of 2 for 1st and 2nd selections. My f’ing money…..this is exactly why I will be disappointed come draft time, Day 1.

1 of 4 = Okung, Suh, McCoy, Berry

1 of 2 = impact DE or impact OLB
