Billy Devaney Shoots Down McNabb/Kolb Rumors
Straight from the top! Not only did he shoot them down, he called them "Absolutely false" and "Utterly ridiculous". Numerous others within the organization have also denied all rumored Rams-Eagles trade talks.

I was worried
there for a minute. My current faith and goodwill towards Devaney would have taken a serious hit had this trade gone down as rumored.
As it is currently, I’m not surprised at all that the Eagles would float “information” to drum up some interest in McNabb, but I would have expected a more modest (i.e., realistic) scenario. The 33rd pick by itself would have been too much for McNabb; throw in Atogwe and it’s highway robbery. I seriously doubt many in the league believed anyone would give up that much. The ridiculous nature of the rumor now has the opposite effect of what Philly was hoping for; they now look desperate to get rid of McNabb; The offers will be lower, and now they have an unhappy quarterback on top of it. Odd move, if it was indeed a FO strategy.
I heard Devaney today on WXOS radio in St. Louis.
He is really angry that the rumor about the trade got started. He said they have been in regular contact with Atogwe, telling him they want him on the team as starting safety, and then this comes along and he will wonder whether they have been telling him the truth. He again said it was absolutely false that they are talking with the Eagles about McNabb.
