Rams offseason gets a bit better!

Ok no direct addition to our team, but a deduction to a division rival is always a plus.  The SF 49ers have fired GM McCloughan in a very odd move five weeks before the draft.  This move makes no sense what so ever.  I solely attribute the 49ers rise from the cellar to this guy.  I hate giving kudos to the fortywhiners, but this guy was done wrong considering the body of work he has left behind.  McCloughan was the man responsible for the 49ers drafting their best player, Patrick Willis.  Many people think that it was coach Singletary's move to bring in the beast that is Willis, but actually McCloughan and Singletary went heads up on this pick on draft day and in the end McCoulghan won.  This may be hard for people to understand considering Singletary was Willis's position coach at the Senior Bowl.  Listening to an interview by Willis, he said that Singletary rode him hard and was on him to pick things up quickly.  He mentioned that half the time he had no idea what Mike was asking him.  Well, apparently that worked out well for them.  Bastards!  That was a big one.  He was also the guy who took a chance on Frank Gore as a 3rd round pick (I think it was 3rd).  I also believe that it was McCloughan who signed Franklin, the huge NT that they franchised this year.   He decided to take a freak of a human being as a TE, otherwise known as Vernon Davis.  Oh, by the way the reason the 49ers have their coach that they currently have is because this guy pushed for an unproven coach, yet firm personality, to be given a chance.   This is the same guy that pulled the trigger on acquiring another 1st rounder with a trade to Carolina last year.  Many good moves and one hell of an eye for talent and the dude is sent with walking papers.

I personally think the guy got done wrong....especially while the guy is facing a divorce.  However, I am glad that the 49ers are dumb enough to make this kind of a move this close to the draft.  They are not far away from being a very good team and now I hope they f---k up this draft.  This definitely hurts the structure of the 49ers....hell we saw what a different direction our team started to go with a new captain behind the wheel.  Karma is a bitch and I hope the 49ers find out the hard way.

From what I've read

He and the team decided in their mutual interest for him to step down while dealing with his family life. Niners Nation has been discussing it pretty comprehensively, and I think Fooch made a point I agree with.
Thousands upon thousands of Amercians and, more importantly, plenty of individuals in the sporting world have gone through divorces without stepping down. Whether there was infidelity involved, I don’t really think a) anyone cares or b) is anyone’s business. It’s Scot McCloughan, not Tiger Woods.
Regardless, that’s the route they’re going; it’ll be interesting to see how (or if) it affects their draft.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

If they mutually agreed,

then why did he say the move caught him by suprise?
Maybe it was one of those “make this situation go by smoothly and your compensation will be worth your while.”
Like the Tubberville situation???
Who knows.

And

I don’t even know why anyone cares about Tiger Woods. Other than they got fooled by his image, but past that….who cares. He should have always been seen as possibly having human weaknesses anyway. The public is so stupid sometimes. Who’s sig line is that? Tackle?

The blind stares of a million pairs of eyes, lookin hard but won't realize, that they'll never see the C. And when I'm rollin by, you can't see me!
