Samkon Gado
Mr. Gado came to my high school yesterday along with veteran wide receiver Andre Davis who catches for the Houston Texans for a talk about hard work in the weight room and classroom.
I have to say, though he didn't put up the best numbers, Sam is now one of my favorite players.
He came from a small private high school in South Carolina, was the 3rd string running back all four years at Liberty U, but managed to become rookie of the year just because of his hard work. I actually had the chance to talk to him 1-on-1 and i asked him about the great SJax (Sam called him The Predator, which i thought was an insane nickname). He said SJax is the hardest working player he has ever seen.
It was a very cool experience to have a conversation with him. He chuckled when i told him I live for the rams, and he said he loves St. Louis and was sad when he didn't get another contract. He also said best of luck in the draft and the upcoming season.
What a guy, eh?

A lot of these guys are good guys
and it stinks when they either aren’t good enough to be stars or can stick with your favorite team for a long period of time.
Glad to hear he’s a cool dude. I wish him the best.

I agree it stinks
It’s stories like these that make a team a favorite when it’s players can appeal to the community. It would be nice if the players could stick around longer.
Wasn't everyone calling for his head....
I’m glad to hear he is a good guy, but now that he is gone people are saying it’s too bad. Maybe it wasn’t dbcouver and TB that disliked Gado so much this last season, but there were plenty of people that really wanted him out of STL.
I guess the grass is always greener…
What are you talking about?
Was he good for the Rams? No. Do I want someone different? Heck yes. Does that mean I can’t think it’s great that he’s apparently a cool guy and I wish him the best? I don’t think so.
You wish the best for good people in the world. According to this story, Gado seems like a good guy. A guy I’d want to have on the Rams. What’s unfortunate is that he simply isn’t good enough to fill the need we have. That’s what is so unfortunate.
Was that really that difficult to understand?

I wanted him gone from our team
as he isn’t productive. Good guy or not, results would’ve kept him on the team. There are some good RB’s that we can get a quality back up if we can’t sign LT.
