Myron Rolle

has anyone heard about his draft status yet? I haven't been able to find anything on him recently. I know he worked out at the combine and I saw him play at FSU (under Coach Andrews) and they know how to develop defensive talent. I'd personally love to see him in the Blue and Gold of StL. Not many guys have the mental facilities that this guy does.  He's a versatile athlete who could give us a less expensive option at safety  since we could lose Atogwe. He's certainly smarter than anyone else on roster atm :-)   They more intelligent the better as far as Im concerned. Would love to be able to grab him in the 3rd round. Def worth it in my opinion. Saw him play a lot at FSU (grew up a half hour from Tallahassee)  and was always impressed, he gives everything he's got.

He would be a good 5th round project player

But 3rd is too high. We have to draft my boy bay bay remember?

?

you want to spend a 3rd on a project wide-out? not trying to be mean but he can barely run his routes. Rolle would at least be able to get the concepts down fairly quickly.

First of all I don't think rolle would be able to play

Immediatly either. How can someone leave the game for a year and play at an NFL speed? My idea with bay bay is to sit him for a year and allow cromwell work his magic on him then if we draft a qb next year they would have a huge target along with an excellent run game. And that my friends is the key to rookie qb success

you should make

“draft bay bay and sit him for a year” you sig so you don’t have to keep repeating it.

Habte E is right.

I also like Rolle, and anyone that has a study habit, and quench to improve anything he does like this kid, is ok in my book. But his ability to get burned in coverage is well known. The kid is aggressive and plays the run well. In fact, in the bit of Senior bowl practice I got to see, he was diagnosing the run extremely well, considering he has been out of football for a period of time. I would say our second 5th rounder is about right. If we didn’t resign Dahl, I might have said earlier.

Projects as a SS

and I agree that with the re-signing of Dahl, who is a much better SS than FS, provides depth at the position. If the Rams go after a safety in the draft I would imagine it would be more of a coverage type FS to backup OJ rather than Rolle who projects better as a SS. Of course if Atogwe leaves that could really push up the importance of a FS to be addressed in the early rounds. I like Rolle but I have a hard time seeing him go in the first two days of the draft.

I think we can get Rolle

People didn’t like that he didnot have big plays, but very smart and knows how to get to the football I say 4th rd pick up

I like him with no earlier than the 2nd pick

of the 5th round. I do like him though, it’s just not that big of a need. Not yet anyway.

Are you at all concerned that he might

leave football again and go back to his studies and his professional life outside football? I think most of the teams are worried about it. All we would need is to draft him with a high (3rd round) pick and have him leave football after one season because it wasn’t as much fin as he remembered and he now has the funds to finance getting started in his life after football.

Him leaving doesnt bother

me at all…he isn’t that kind of person. we would have him for at least as long as his rookie contract. Like i said i saw him at FSU a lot and he’s quality people. No worries about that
