The QB/DT article ratio is getting out of hand...

...We all know that figuring out the QB situation is key to our team moving on, but there are seriously way too many articles about Bradford/Clausen vs. something like Suh vs. McCoy. Or 2nd round options for that matter. I just thought it's a little too much. Maybe it's because Suh is the consensus best player, etc, but we do need to consider whether or not McCoy is the better DT. At least for argument's sake. Just today there's 3 QB articles vs no Defense or DT articles. I just think it's a little strange.

In my defense I was writing my article before Van put up his second...but I know what you mean.

But I’m a little confused because the last time someone wrote an article about McCoy their was a huge explosion on how Suh is much better and it’s all just pre-draft mumbo-jumbo.

Understand...

…I didn’t mean it as a diss, I just felt like we’re getting these Bradford/Clausen articles more than say, late round QB articles on guys like McCoy, LeFevour, or even Tebow/Snead. Even observation of a safety like Eric Berry or any corners available would be cool. Wide Receivers? Arguably our weakest position? We haven’t discussed that. 2nd round talent at DE, or OLB, Tight Ends. All positions that we may or may not draft, but at least to get a sense of what’s going to be available in later rounds.

This draft isn’t about the first round. The biggest impact (as guys like Laurinaitis/Fletcher were demonstrating) is made in rounds 2-7. Let’s do a piece on RBs, etc. I just feel like the QB thing is being forcefed, and the discussions are getting more tense because we discuss the same topic every day. I don’t think a consensus can be reached. Either you love Suh, or you think we suck so bad at QB that we HAVE to take a QB. Those lines seem drawn, so I think discussion of all these other needs might be a little more productive/intriguing.

Just my thoughts. I didn’t mean any harm to you or 3k, because I respect and admire your dedication to the site so much, I really do. Just saying let’s vary it a little.

Agreed

That was why I dropped the TSTocracy poll, to get a sense of what people wanted to hear. As of right now, the day 3 vote is second only to #1 pick talk, and that what I was expecting (although the ratio was unexpected). Just to be fair to myself, the only QB-specific post I made was the FanPost on Bradford. Still, I agree. I think the pace of discussion is so high that it’s skewing things a bit. Don’t worry. There’s plenty of draft yak a-comin.

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

I meant to mention VanRam as well.

The QB thing is a very serious part of the discussion and I think it’s about putting everything out there and making sure we have a thorough discussion. I just worried that it was a little too much at once. Thanks for the efforts by the way 3k. I look forward to that round 2 mock of yours coming soon.

No I totally understand it wasn't a diss

I posted my story and then refreshed the page and saw three posts about the same thing.

I was like…well shit. That’s a whole bunch of blah.

That's why I don't do it anymore

That happened to me enough times that I just stopped publishing to the front page. A lot of wasted effort.

I'm working toward rd 2 of the Being Billy Devaney series

but it won’t be up for a little while. Been busy and leaving Friday morning and going out of town for the 4 day weekend.

I was thinking I started it after the combine last year, but I just checked and I apparently didn’t (1st installment was on Feb 8 last year). Either way, it’s coming soon.

When Suh can play WR

I’ll go there. How about McClain as LS? You know come to think of it, I wouldn’t put it past Suh to play WR. I just talked to a guy this morning whos sister grew up and went to school with him at Grant. He says Suhs sister was supposed to be the athlete and Suh was just this big funny kid that was always yukking it up. His sister played soccer pretty well I guess.
Any way I’ll be happy to talk about something else now I guess.

how bout a peice on the rams CB situation.

Is it out of the question to draft a CB this year if he is the BPA? Or is this a spot where we are not considered as a huge need? I don’t think we should but who knows. All said and done I have been a post draft critic the past two years in April. Once the season has unfolded I have been relatively happy with the job done by the new regime. I will be happy whatever the direction they will go this year.

CB is my first plan of action with BBD.

Theres definitely some CBs worth looking at

The later rounds represent flexibility as far as I’m concerned.

FYI

The CB analysis will be up tomorrow late afternoon/evening.
