"For Pete's Sake!" Super-Sunday Edition

Forpetesake_medium

Hello gang! It's that time again... usually I post on Saturday but I elected to wait until Super Duper Sunday!!! YES it's time to recap the happenings here at TST. There wa s A LOT going on this week, from talks about a lock out in 2011, to Michael Vick, to the draft. It seems TST has been busier NOW than when we were actually playing games!

Note to EVERYONE here at TST... from the bottom of my weak heart (from all the Ram beatings as of late) I have to say I truly love this community, and without TST I'd go totally flippin' crazy during the week. I find myself wondering how I survived as a Rams fan without it! THANK YOU ALL... LONG LIVE TST

  • Billy Devany (Rams GM) Interview

This was an interesting post HetField72. Let me first point out that this has to be the most I've ever heard of anyone remembering in my entire life... yes this was recalled from hearing a radio interview.. I'm impressed!

One thing Devaney said that had me thinking. He said he is a "Bulger Fan". Is this a hint that Marc may be back under center for us as starter next year? It isn't out of the realm of possibility. Think about it. How many QB's are you super impressed with in this draft class? Yes there are some who will make good NFL quarterbacks, but with us being in the #1 slot, Suh there, our D-Line needing MASSIVE help, it is totally possible that we may ignore QB needs and go with Bulger, Null and Boller. Don't throw tomatoes, i'm just sayin'. Enjoy the read.
  • the rams must draft Jimmy Clausen

Are you in the Clausen camp? If you are you'll find some interesting tidbits posted by batteringram39 who is willing to bet his house that Clausen will be a star in the NFL. Honestly, if I had to pick one QB, Clausen would not be a disappointment to me if he had on a Rams jersey next year. Let's face it, as pathetic as we were on offense last year, if we started almost anybody but Boller, Null and Bulger I think TST would be very happy (for the most part anyway). Enjoy.

  • Manufacturing controversy

VanRam posted something interesting yesterday. As much as I respect Jack Youngblood, I think he went way overboard when talking about how Chris Long is a disappointment. Yes I don't need to be reminded of how I was leading the charge around week 8 about how Long is struggling and not performing like a #2 overall pick. BUT you can't ignore his turnaround. You also can't ignore the fact that if we get Suh, our D-Line will be a nightmare to opposing offenses next year. I am predicting Long will have between 10-15 sacks next year. bank on it. Enjoy the read

  • NFL Draft Prospects: QB

OK this post was outstanding by stlcardsfan4. Curious on what QB's did what and who is available? This post is the answer to your prayers. Very insightful and totally opened my eyes to tons of QB's that, quite frankly, I had never heard of. Enjoy the read.

  • Rams favorites to sign Vick?

How many think we should sign Vick and call it a day? Honestly I'm still on the fence about this, although if we signed Vick it certainly would clear the air about who we're drafting I would think. To me Vick is no more than a short term answer (maybe at that) to a long term problem. I admit Bulger has given us SOME good games, but let's be freakin' real here... we haven't had a quality QB since Warner left. It's time to get a long term solution. I'm sick of the Boller's and Green's...

    Special Message For Devaney:
Get us a franchise QB but not at the expense of missing out on Suh, OK? Please?

I want to conclude with my thoughts on the potential lockout. I've heard from many that it is almost certain to happen. All I can say is, DAMN... DAMNIT and CRAP. I know I speak for everyone here when I say that if it weren't for the Rams, and more specifically, the NFL we'd all go crazy.

Football to me is a way for me to escape from the daily grind and actually be a part of something... be part of a TEAM. All of us here at TST are as close to a team as I'll ever get. I had aspirations of being a pro football player, but 2 herniated discs and a blown out knee sealed the deal for me in high school.

Now I can still dream right? Let's all hope an agreement is made, and an agreement that improves the game, not dismantles it.

Love y'all... let's stay positive and GO RAMS
