Some Simple Side-by-Side stats of Draft-eligible QBs

Now I know players, and in this case Quarterbacks, are unique in their own way like how they throw the ball, how strong their arm is, can they scramble, can they throw on the run, do they make good decisions under pressure, so on and so on and I know those are the things that probably determine if and when they are selected in the draft but I wanted to also be able to compare them side-by-side on just their stats where I'm not mixing apples and oranges. So to that end here are the stats for the probably eight most highly rated QBs on most draft boards:

Jimmy Clausen-Jr  -  6' 3" - 223 lbs. - Comp. 695 - Att. 1,110 - Yds 8,148  -  Comp. %  62.6  -  TD 60 / INT 27

Sam Bradford-Jr  -  6' 4" -  223 lbs. - Comp. 604 - Att. 893 - Yds 8,403  -  Comp. %  67.6  -  TD 88 / INT 16

Colt McCoy-Sr  -  6' 2"  - 210 lbs. - Comp. 1,157  - Att. 1,645 - Yds 13,253  -  Comp. %  70.3  -  TD 112 /  INT 45

Tim Tebow-Sr  -  6' 3" - 245 lbs. - Comp. 661- Att. 995 - Yds 9,285  -  Comp. %  66.4  -  TD 88 / INT 16

Tony Pike-Sr  -  6' 6" -  210 lbs. - Comp. 421 - Att. 682 - Yds 5,018  -  Comp. %  61.7  -  TD 49 / INT 20

Jevan Snead-Jr  -  6' 3" - 461lbs. - Comp. 461 - Att. 727 - Yds 5,765  -  Comp. %  63.4  -  TD 48 / INT 35

Jarrett Brown-Sr  -  6' 4" - 223 lbs. - Comp. 278 -  Att. 421 - Yds 2,144  -  Comp. %  66.0  -  TD 16 / INT 13

Dan LeFevour-Sr  -  6' 3" - 238 lbs. - Comp. 1,171 - Att. 1,763 - Yds 12,905  -  Comp. %  66.4  -  TD 102 / INT 36

Go Rams!

Holy shit, Jevan Snead is HUGE!

461 pounds of man meat!!!

You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In *St. Louis* his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well, *Steven Jackson* was the best.

Let Snead play both DT spots. Let other teams try to run on that wall!

Did anyone ever make an all midget team play an all fatass team on madden?

Oh the memories…

11 5’3 160 pound players going up against 11 7’0" 350 lb. players…all maxed out stats.

The House of Spears reigns supreme

Woah

If that’s right, that’s the guy for the Rams. He can be his own O-line.

Oops!!! Sorry for the typo guys...never was any good at typing.

Jevan Sneed’s reported height and weight (according to Scouts.com) is 6’ 2.5" and weighs 195 lbs.

I gotta do a better job of proof-reading…I’m getting as bad as the Post-Disgrace, a, I mean the Post-Dispatch.

Go Rams!

And Bradford has now weighed in at 236, is it?

Looks like he’s right up there with Levefour and Tebow on size now.

A QB for the future...

Just read this from http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/events/1998/nfldraft/leaf_manning/routes.html

“One popular theory about the two is that Manning is better prepared now for the pros, but that Leaf will be the better player in five years because of his arm strength.”

Yeah right…

I've read a few articles in the past about Ryan Leaf...

and they were talking about him on either ESPN 101.1 FM or 590 AM the other day. Their take was ‘how much heart’ a quarterback has to have coming out of college and what kind of support he has on the Offense. They were saying Leaf did not have much heart and did not possess a ‘get over it’ attitude. They were saying he became shell shock from not getting any protection and being hit so much and that he lost all of his confidence and never rebounded from that.

Now I don’t know if that’s true or not but they were comparing him to Manning and how he had the same situation when he first came into the NFL but he had what it takes to continue on unshaken with a never-give-up attitude. They also said Keith Null, even though not in the same league as Maning, had that same stick-to-it attitude and you all know the lack of offense support he got.

Now I’m also not saying I agree with those radio folks but it’s something to think about.

Go Rams!

I just heard on the radio

the Wunderlich scores of some of the top QBs in the draft this year. Scores in the high 30s are outstanding, showing the person can learn well, process information well and so on. Here’s some of the scores as given on WXOS.

Tebow – 22
Clausen – 23
McCoy – 25
Bradford – 36

Quite a difference.

A perfect score is 50. Some trivia:

Dan Marino and Vince Young both scored 15 on the test, though Vince Young scored a 6 on his first attempt

Michael Vick, scored 20. Marcus Vick, his brother, scored a lofty 11.

Former Rams Ryan Fitzpatrick and Kevin Curtis both score 48’s.

I actually have a Rams mini helmet signed by Fitzpatrick. Cost? $9.99 on ebay.
Cost of brand new mini helmet in the box? $14.99.
Yes, the only Harvard grad to ever complete a pass in the NFL actually decreased the value of a mini helmet by over 30% when he autographed it.
