Julius Peppers
If the Buccaneers didn't win their last two games of the season, they would clearly being takign Suh which they think extremely highly of. Even though they have the third pick, don't they still want him? If the Bucs were to offer the 3rd pick and their third round pick for the 1st overall pick, I would take it, for two reasons.
First, the Rams have so many needs on their team that they need to address. An extra third round pick could really benefit the Rams. You could get an offensive talent like McCluster with that extra pick.
Mainly though, we wouldn't have to pay the huge salary that goes along with drafting the number 1 pick. At the number three pick we could get the franchise qb, either bradford or clausen. I don't know what the contract would be for one of them, but im guessing between 20-30 million. Now with that extra money the Rams could go after a pass rusher in free agency. Just throwing it out their but: Julius Peppers. His contract plus the contract of our future qb would be around the same price that you would have to pay getting Suh or McCoy number 1 overall. And you solve 2 HUGE needs. Jullius Peppers and Chris Long at DEs could become one of the best tandems in the league.

I understand what you are saying,
but Tampa’s third round pick just isn’t enough to allow them to jump up and get Suh. It would take at least one of their second round picks and maybe more.
Getting Peppers would be great for the Rams if he was really motivated to play and not take days off. I just don’t know what the chances are that he would be willing to come to the Rams when he could go to a winning team like the Patriots. We should have a chance to find out before the dratt. Stranger things have happened.
This reminds me of the
Albert Haynesworth deal… pay me lots of money and watch me fade away. No thanks.
Peppers won't come play for us
pretty sure he said he wants to play in a 3-4. and he definitely won’t want to play for a losing team.
