Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

Outside Linebacker options as requested.....

It's looking like the drafting of James Laurinaitus is turning out to be one of the solid draft day decisions that we have made the last 5 years. With the loss of the oft injured Pisa Tinoisamoa and the trading of Will Witherspoon to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Rams have some gaping holes in the their linebacking unit. Players like David Vobora, Larry Grant and Chris Draft looked serviceable but we still need some "all over the field" playmakers at that position. I still wish we would have hung on to London Fletcher. I heard the other day that he leads all linebackers in tackles over the past few years. In this years draft there are some solid linebackers like Rolando McLain, Navorro Bowman, Brandon Graham and Jerry Hughes who will more than likely be gone by the time the Rams pick comes up at #33.

Another guy that I see moving to an OLB spot

is Sean Lee out of Penn St. The guy looks good in coverage and is a ball hunter. He plays sideline to sideline and is a smart LB. That knee looked good this year so I’m not as worried about the injury. I see a solid WLB.

If we drop down a little further,

Eads is great in pass coverage. Iowa let him cover slot receivers and he had no trouble doing it. I saw him make interceptions by running with the slot guy, then bursting in front of him when the ball came. He’s not as strong on the run, but he isn’t bad at it – just great in pass coverage.

We need to improve our D period,

cover skills are sometimes difficult to teach, but the run support is something he can learn and improve on. I also like his projected position; lots of value in a pick like that. I also like T. Gibson as well. I don’t think we’ll draft him, unless he can put on more weight and play the 4-3 DE.

Now that Joey Porter is available as a free agent,

would you consider him in our OLB group? He gets lots of sacks, but he must have been having problems with other parts of the game the way Miami kept rotating others in for him. Anyone know for sure?
