Random Ramsdom: 2/1/10
So apparently there was a game on yesterday. I'm going to guess that you didn't watch it. If you did, I'm sorry. Here are today's stories (It's slim pickins' today I'm afraid):
- Even though the Rams were 1-15, they met their team goal. I'm all for being nice, but really? "meeting expectations," isn't something to say after being the worst team in the league.
- For anyone who hopes the Rams snag Tebow, the Alouettes may have them beat.
- If you are looking for some names to throw out when your talking to your friends about the draft, look at the winners and losers of the Senior Bowl.
- Don Banks has his snap judgments about the Pro Bowl. My favorite? The fact that after 12 years, London Fletcher got in.
It's Monday, so try to take it easy! Enjoy it (if you can).

Spags...really?!
Sapgs lost some cool points with me based on that quote. There are NO moral victories in football. If I hear a coach that says – “well guys, we didn’t win them all but don’t feel bad! We played as a team and held our heads high, and that’s all that matters!” he better be coaching my 5 year old in pee wee football. Once you get past the age of 7, you can no longer rest your hat on morals. I don’t care what profession you are in. Get some wins Spags or you will be looking for a job soon. You and those 4 pillars of crap.
On this team, we are all united in a common goal: to keep my job.

What do you expect him to say?
With the talent he has to work with, what’s he supposed to say?
“We lost. We’re goddam losers. That’s all there is to it.”
You don’t get the team to buy into your program by beating them over the head with things they already know. The whole team knows their record.
I think we know his remarks weren’t fully and completely documented in the article, but I’m pretty sure he didn’t say “that’s all that matters”
A reminder of why Spagnuolo sounds so positive
You’re talking about a guy who, with the talent on the New York Giants, ended the Patiots perfect season after 18 straight wins. His Defense gave that Pariot team, who everyone on Earth thought was the team of destiny, their only loss, and did it on the biggest stage their sport has to offer.
Why would he be so positive now that he has the Rams talent, and the Rams record? Let’s take a minute to go back and remember what was said by his players when Spagnuolo left the Giants.
Specifically, number 3 -
“"This is a big blow to the Giants…firm but fair, players rallied around him because he usually managed to spin everything in a positive way.”
You don’t build a winner by being negative. Negativity doesn’t motivate anybody, and it doesn’t bring out the best in anybody.
