Hump Day Hypothesizing
Hey, TST'ers!
It's your resident flake, AmpLee! I missed doing a Gameballs and Lameballs about a month ago and then ran and hid for the next 3 to 4 weeks because I was embarrassed of breaking my streak. I know there were a lot of people out there who were absolutely crushed by this, so I apologize. When a fair weather FanPoster bows out, it really puts a damper on things because my personal opinions hold a ton of weight around here. SO PLEASE FORGIVE ME.
Now that I am done with that dream world, let's go into another dream world!
I get a kick out of drafttek.com because it crunches out 845,673 scenarios for a fan to ponder ina half of a year's time. Well, today I looked at the Tek and it had us picking at #12 (which won't happen). THEN, it gives us WR A.J. Green (Georgia) in the 1st, RB Mikel LeShoure (Illinios) in the 2nd, and OLB Mason Foster (Washington) in the 3rd. Now, know this: THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN REALITY. But... it's dream world, remember? So as a fun thing to just chew on while waiting for King Sam and The Rams shock the world on Sunday, ask yourself this: Would you rather have the Rams lose out and get all 3 of these players for next year, OR, see the Rams go to the playoffs this year.
It's an EITHER/OR question. Remember, THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN IN REALITY, but... just for fun, which would you choose? Please explain your answers below.

Playoffs ... this year
Making the playoffs this year would be far better. With a red hot QB and an up and coming team we would be very attractive in the FA market. It would also be a big boost for the team spirit, moral, EGO… ect. The Patriots are the prime example of being able to stay on top over a long period of time (with lower draft picks). They do this because of the greatness of their QB (their coach is pretty good too). We can emulate their process. yes we can! remember, what one man can do, another can do.
The only thing comparable to a Rams win is a 49er loss!
Playoffs
I think the Rams goal this year was to go 8-8. They have a good chance to go 9-7 and host a PO game.
Devany has done a nice job of finding players with lower picks and FA’s. NO reason why he will not continue to find those players.
Striking us down...
Will make us more powerful than you can imagine.
playoffs this year
because there won’t be a season next year.
Apparently,
there are 8 49ers fans voting on here.
"I kind of stepped my swagger up. You look at the Madden game and the swagger's so low, maybe they'll bump me up. Before it was a meatball flex, so you've got to liven it up a little bit." - Animal Jr.
Wait a minute...
Where in the hell are all of the “F’ this year, look to future” people? Now they are all “lets win this year!” I can see why American Idol gets more votes than our elections do. Pure douchery!
Ignorance is bliss and way too many people are happy.
Like I said, Ev
nobody wants to admit it anymore. I’m not goin pissin’ anyone off anymore tho. Doesn’t do any good anyway.
An' it harm none, do what ye will
I missed your LameBalls/Gameballs posts!
Those were fun to read. Hopefully you can start it back up again?
Number 8 is great
I will
and thank you for the kind words. Here’s a quickie for last week.
GAMEBALLS:
Fred Robbins: Best FA pickup for just about any team all year.
Depleted DBs: Stepped up and played pretty damn well for a M.A.S.H. unit. Hey! They caught the INTs. Some nice breakups too!
SJ39: Keep on pounding, big boy, and good to see you shoot the ball in the zone. Need more of those TDs.
LAMEBALLS:
Adam Goldberg: Great guy, lousy guard. This last month AG has been on his back more than Paris Hilton. No push. None.
David Vobora: I know he’s been out of the starting lineup for a while but I have never been a DV fan. Another great guy, lousy player. He’s an outside LB who can’t ever seem to get over to the outside to contain or tackle. Not good.
Run Defense: Gap assignments, tackling, you name it. Once teams grow a brain and start running at us for a whole game, we might be in trouble.
If we make the playoffs, we pick 21st
I’m sure either Julio Jones or Jonathon Baldwin will still be there for the taking. I would prefer Baldwin.
In the later rounds we will able to pick up some solid players. In past drafts we have managed to obtain George Selvie in the 7th round, Illinois Mike in the 5th, Clifton Ryan in the 5th round and Danario Alexander as a rookie free agent, All those players are arguably key components to our team.
I'm suffering from an extreme case of laurinaitis!
